Ive never done a USA map in any of the shows before. My typical strategy is capture all of the blank spaces first, and continue to reinforce until im able to play all my opponents of Veteran. Only problem with that is the constant turns, by the time I get near the end of a small map alot of the spaces im simming aginst high numbers. I have to imagine that method won't work on this map?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, definitely want to try and knock this map out this weekend!

Fill as many blank spaces as you can. Fill A spot will with all your Fans and just conquer space after space moving along the map as you can. Take out strongholds as soon as you get to them even diverting the path you're on if you have to. All of your spaces should have 1 fan in them except for one and that's your "Attacking" Hex. You're gonna lose some spaces here and there along the way, but you'll be winning more than you're losing. Start moving west first. Take out the Reds (Colorado) then head up to the Twins? (Seattle) then just work your way down the west coast. At some point San Diego, Houston and some of the other teams near your original starting spot may start creeping towards your stronghold...take them out before the get a chance if you want. I very rarely have ever had a stronghold attacked by the CPU.

By the time your map is about 75% covered...you're gonna have over 99 fans in your Attacking Hex so just throw the remainder somewhere opposite of where you are attacking and hit it from two sides.

I recommend leaving at least 5 reinforcements on any stronghold you conquer as you’re going along. It helps alleviate having to play a game defending your stronghold.

    1. Capture all blank spaces.
    2. As you surround a stronghold, keep about 4-5 fans in the NW corner next to each stronghold (except SF [SW] and AZ [SW]). This will prevent any of those strongholds from branching out already-claimed spaces.
    3. Once you've conquered all the unclaimed spaces, you should be getting 120-ish per turn and each stronghold should have 17-19 per stronghold. You can now play everyone on Rookie.

I think for people who have never done it, starting and getting a foothold is the hardest part.
I always build my attacking fans at first by stealing on All Star for a few turns, and taking out the depleted teams right around me. Then I head North west and do as @SaveFarris_PSN said. Once I get the west coast covered and I’ve created a solid front line, I take out those strongholds so I don’t have to worry about them.

    Then I March east

It isn’t just NW spot on this map and not just SF/AZ as @SaveFarris_PSN and @Ericulous1_PSN said. The specific spot you want to keep 5 fans on for each stronghold is the first spot that stronghold takes to start the map. So, immediately after you and every team make your very first moves (not the end of the first turn — just the first move), screenshot the map and you can always double check which spot it is later if you’re unsure.

Lots of YouTube videos explaining this too which helps to get a visual. No reason you can’t do this map playing anything other than rookie unless you want to play a higher difficulty.

Surround your own, then Fill in as many as you can in the "Dakotas, Wyoming Montana" area take the reds and then the one that was Seattle as the other guys said. Leave 3-5 in your home base, then run down the west coast as they said. I don't fill in the whole map after I get to a certain point and just attack in a straight line to each stronghold, then fill it what I lack at the end.....it's boring then, but I find it easiest way to do it

Don’t know if this is the “best” but I divided the map pretty much right down the middle. I would take spaces and conquer territories from the top to the bottom and back up to the top. Sort of like taking an oval path. I would keep doing this and as I acquire fans, I would “sprinkle” fans to the other side of the oval that I’m not on. In this case focused on the right side of the map as it had more strongholds that were closer to the center. While defeating those strongholds I would add fans to the left side making it harder for them to attach. When I was done with the right side of the map I had a ton of fans and the left side was fortified with approx 35-60 per fan from the top of the map to the bottom. It was easy after that because with each turn I had over 150 fans to share. I hope this makes sense. Again it may not be the best but I found that once the first half was done, it was all downhill for the second half.

USA map is a different beast. AIs generally dont build up like they do in other maps, they attack each other instead. On my map Cleveland took over most of the northeast, 7 other teams.

Beeline your targets, let their territories stay for a while as free defense.

I surround my original stronghold first then take the nearest stronghold to the west of it while filling in the blank spaces in the North West until I reach what would be Seattle.

I then move down the West Coast and start back East. By the time I reach Houston I can start occasionally skip to reinforce.

I'll make 2 large groups and continue moving East through the south and middle of the map. I'll take all the South East strong holds and then just skip to reinforce moving up the East Coast taking two or three strongholds a turn.
