It had potential, if they had actually done it right.
Alas...

Lazy Card Art/ Hated Ugly Card Art is one thing...But swapping Position Players and Pitchers...is just ridiculous
-
This only works if it does 2 things
- The player retains his old position and they just add another spot he could play
- The collection reward is ..... Fake Barry Bonds --- Reggie Stocker -- LOL
I do not know what they are thinking I will wait and see but SDS you wanted to get the community talking . Also something to bring players back from the EA games or other games this will either do it or drive them away for rest of the year.
-
Hey we need need an idea for Season 3 some that really grabs them, how about
- All time teams - TA 3 progress directly related to beating teams in that division
- VS CPU with 3 waves of difficulty
- Signature Series TA 3 throwback using the 2019 card art
- Dynasty conquest - 2018 best content
That all sounds like silliness how bout we make Randy Johnson an outfielder an Many Machado a reliver that will get em going.

I mentioned this in another post. I'f they can play their original position, without accruing negative attributes, then these cards will be usable.
If not, collection fodder and nothing but Core cards for the first 6 weeks.

@Sarge1387_PSN incognito was better than this [censored]. think about that. Its like they are 2-3 years behind EA and Maddon. What Maddon does in 2-3 years the show will do
-
Would have been better off putting in cards of Little Leaguers from the World Series this year than out of position players. SHEEESH

They don’t have enough legends to support the current model, they are forced to give us the same cards over and over, so in a desperate attempt to make it “different” they went with OOP… I hope this means no more sets and seasons for future iterations of this game

I wish people would stop with this excuse.
Yes, they need more legends but I can easily come up with ideas for new series
The obvious one to me is for this time of year is to highlight players that had strong September/Octobers for playoff teams.Every team has made the playoffs in the last 10 years.
Some quick research:JD martinez hit .354 in September for the Tigers in 2014
David Dahl had 9 HR/27 RBI for Rockies in 2018
Starling marte with a > .400 obp for the Pirate sin 2015The 2014 Angels would be the most limiting with the only feasible option being Trout (unless they wanted to give a rookie CJ Cron who didnt do much in Sept)
-
Why do they have to resort to this? Like some of you said it's to cover up the fact that they don't have enough legends.
Which is inexcusable. I'm pretty sure we'd be happier if they added some more obscure legends instead of this stupid bleep.
And I can't imagine obscure legends would be THAT expensive to sign. I bet some of them with kids or grandkids would think it's so cool to have their family member in the game, some of them would sign for free, or at least a very small sum.

But its not. There are more than enough ideas where they could use even current players.
This is trying to do something "cool" and failing.

@Teak2112_MLBTS Agreed.
The fact that we'll have a better card for Kutter Crawford at SS than COREY freaking SEAGER is an absolute joke.

I’m not defending them for this, on the contrary I made my post to highlight how they shot themselves in the foot with the seasons model and now can’t find a way to recover from that.
By the way I’m curious, what better/new idea do you have? Maybe an employee can read it and pass it along to the content team.

This is because there arent enough legends
You also tossed in an irrelevant sets and seasons gripe in there as wellNeither of which are the cause of this.

You have already quoted one...

I don't even care. It's not a gameplay or quality of life update. It has nothing to do with coop bugs and issues. Does nothing with the God forsaken interface and UI. Input delays and inaccurate pitching/swinging days and perfect perfects line driving to infield gloves. It isn't innovative or unique enough for me to be excited. Every other ranked game is a 9 man homerun derby with extended innings. Players are still going to have .700+ batting averages with triple digit undefeated records and cheating will still be prevalent on Xbox so cross play disabled is still best.
It's just another content drop that means nothing to me nor excites me. I'll still play the game the exact same way I have been, for roughly an hour then play a different game so I don't get angry lol. -

Ben Sheets kid has been campaigning to get him in the game for years and nothing has come of it.
They also have enough legends in the game to do something with...i said on another post, give us the 89s from season 1-2. The guys that we can do without the 99s and save the bigger names for chapter 2 and season 4. I wouldnt mind an Eddie Rosario 95....his 89 was actually good for me. Jose Abreu...Clint Frazier etc. Save the Longorias and the David Wrights for the 99 TA but some of the lesser knowns would fit right in as a 95.

Eddie Rosario has low-key one of the best swings in the game.

@YOSHI24_MLBTS said in Your Card reveals and teases for Season 3:
For me there are a few takes on this:
- I do not like goofy stuff … I wanna play Mariano Rivera in the late innings … where he belongs. BUT …
- I like when they spice it up and there couldn’t be a better way than doing this with 95s at the beginning of S3. That is because there will be better cards very quickly and you won’t see those kind of stuff very soon
- They have not enough legends (which is bad to begin with) so bringing in e.g. the third Nolan would be more 23. Since 23 was the lowpoint for me, I like this …
- Guys, embrace new ideas … We will not have new legends this time around (there is hope for 25)
