Why are the timing windows so busted?

Outside fastballs just constantly get pulled for homers when really they would be rollovers or weak liners. When you actually hit an outside pitch oppo it says you're "slightly late" which just means you're lining out every time. It just gets so frustrating when you're playing baseball and people get rewarded with swings that are just unreal. Mlb 18 was the last game that actually got oppo swings right and then people complained they were getting teed off.

It’s like down and away sliders. If some didn’t result in home runs etc with good pci and timing that’s all you would face in the game. Why throw anything other than fastballs away if you knew most would be groundouts and fly outs to right etc. I agree there should be some more reality but it leads to everyone throwing the same pitch and location and ultimately less people playing.
