Wouldn't it make sense....

    Wouldn't it make sense if the best player at their position for live series would be like 95+? In previous years there were actually live series players that would be 98 ovr 97 ovr. Like in what world should live series aaron judge be a 92 ovr when he's probably about to put up another historic season? Bryce harper is hitting .300 and has mid 80s contact. That's just to name a couple. Almost all of the live series starters are unusable because they just all have ridiculously low hits per 9s along with absolutely horrible control. It feels like the only reason they are in the game at all is solely for collections. They either have to upgrade their stats or pull a madden 13 move where they come out with a 2nd edition live series or something.

    ive said it before , they have diluted the value of diamond cards to the point they are just soso , very early on in the games history ,

    commons were used as fillins , but were used
    bronze were the meat and potatos
    silvers were the backbone
    golds were your stars
    and Diamonds were hard to come by and when you got one it was a beast ,and wre your super stars ,consistant performer , both legend and live ,it would take you almost a year to get a full lineup of Diamonds

    your gold cards were great cards , and represented a lot of the star players and golds back then would out perform your average diamond in the game today

    even silvers were nothing to shake a stick at and it was not uncommon to get a bronze that would go yard if it was a clear up and comer

    what the powers that be have done is basically made everything gold and below stubb fodder , and made the once coveted and sought after Diamond , Meh

    i remember when the Ted Williams card was the most longed for card in the game , you literally dreaded facing the guy , and you could not help to smile when he was coming to bat for you

    emphasis on diamond value vs performance made a big shift when trout hit the scene , the SDS shifted the game to you had to buy packs to get anywhere in the game and everyone was chasing the Trout card , BUT AT LEAST the card performed , none of this where you have a high ranked diamond that goes 4 games hitless

    I like to compare this game to Magic The Gathering because SDS chooses to introduce game structure similar to that of a competitive trading card game but does it as poorly as possible.
    In MtG you have common, uncommon, rare, and mythic rare cards with a multitude of types, variations, and methods to their gameplay. You also have sets and seasons just like MLB TS introduced.
    Wizards of the Coast, devs of MtG, are by no means a perfect company nor have made the best decisions when it comes to gameplay and meta of their game BUT it very well structured and diverse in ways MLB TS really should mimic if they want their game structured how they do. At least from the ranked/competitive perspective.

    I don't mind at all the idea of having balance to the overall rating ie squad mostly made of silvers and golds with handful of diamonds that really punch numbers for the team.
    In magic you would almost NEVER see a good deck full of rare and mythic rare cards. It's like 3/4ths commons and uncommons that synchronize the deck and are effective or essential to the deck and the remaining 4th is your rares and mythic rares that people get scared of seeing be played.
    I'm not saying in MtG you rarely see rares or there isn't a ton of them. There are, but they are used appropriately in GOOD decks. If you see someone pack their deck with rare cards cause they have big numbers and shiny looks that deck won't get far but gimmick and fun games.

    The other key thing about sets in MtG is they print 3-4 sets in the year that all get to rotate together. So say a new set drops they don't immediately rotate out the older sets. You get to go into the season with your current cards while collecting and adding the new ones then an old set of the group drops and the new comes in. So in theory you have 2-3 sets to get comfortable with at one time in the season and you're not starting completely over each season just because "iT nEEdS tO FeEl fResH".
    I can't tell you how much I [censored] despise that lame [censored] excuse for sets in TS

    they need to stop the diamond fever and get back to what made this game so popular in the first place

    first make it fun , make each skill level clear and seperate from the one under and the one over , at least for play vs CPU , if someone wants the real experience thats what the harder levels are for , for those of us that dont live in our parents basement and only play a couple times a week and against CPU we want to dismantle our opponent and have fun , our play time is limited , getting 3 hits in 3 games is not what we want , some nights we may not even get to play 3 games

    if they want to have dynamic leave it optional for against CPU instead of locking it , if you want to play live persons then that what you want in the first place

    reduce the number of diamonds and distribute skill throughout all the cards again , its gotten to the point where gold and below are nothing ,ore than nuisance cards , if thats all they are then why spend any energy on them at all , delete them and do away with levels , its not like we have them now , i had a gold card pitcher that was more stable , and accurate than Ohtani yesterday its ridiculous

    The only gold cards I've used with success were specific pitchers like Kimbrel because he met my Hoffman boost and had the knuckle curve I wanted for my bullpen. I'd like to see more quality gold cards
