Exactly, no one can choose your best Captain squad just for the fact that the cards play different for everyone

Go to ShowZone dot com. Look up the 88 Devers captain card and click on the Eligible Captains section and click Devers. You can see every single top card in their best position with highest overall.

Here is the the best player per position according to SZ:

Catcher: Carlos Santana Captain
First base: Prince Fielder
2nd Base: Matt Carpenter
3rd base: Harmon Killabrew
SS: Romy Gonzalez
LF: Harmon Killabrew
CF: Marcella Ozuna
RF: Gary Sheffield

The list online is large but those are just the top slots and base on their overall or SZ score. That doesn't mean you MUST use them. There are tons of other good players.
