Seriously!? Wild Cards do "0" towards programs...??

I stopped playing DD last July with the introduction of "season eligiblity." This year I decided to give it a go.
I just realized that my first wild card player, S1 Topps 87 ovr Shohei Ohtani, that I hit a HR in conquest and it didn't progress the Season 2 Awards challenge to hit 5 HRs. Then the same thing happened with a SP from S1 as a wild card.
Am I understanding correctly that Wild Card players do absolutely nothing towards programs? What is the point then??
Please SDS, remove this season eligibility all together. Or, as a compromise, make it an ONLINE ONLY requirement. This approach would make sense because it's live people against each other and they want to level the playing field.
Let offline users like me use who we please and grind out so hard for. Since we can create 4 squads, all players would have to do is have their offline and online squads. Problem solved!

It clearly says in the describe "Tally 5 HRs with Season 2 eligible Topps Now Series". The Ohtani isnt a season 2 card. If it was General Mission and it just said 5 HRs with a DH, it would have counted.

Wild cards are really for Ranked. However, the limit on objectives for Season Awards is season gated so that you have to follow their progression path. Otherwise you could just use all the season 1 cards in play vs CPU.

Yup Wild Cards do not count towards any objectives that specify a specific season... so a Season 1 card even used as a Wild Card will not be included in any progression for task that specify the use of Season 2 cards. Wild Cards are simply a way to give you more options when building your team for mostly Ranked and you can use them in other modes like Conquest Maps and Mini Seasons (if they qualify) but any goals/missions that specify a particular season then they simply won't count.

Cards now they shouldn’t count towards any season as long as they are a wild card -
