Hi all, new to the forum. Most of my questions with regards to anything are going to start with this: the last Show I played was ‘09, which I think played the absolute snot out of. Decided to pick up ‘24, and a lot of the systems have changed, with a lot of different options for ways to “tweak” said systems.

With regards to Guess Pitch, I remember it used to work like this: you guess a pitch type, and you’d guess the quadrant. Let’s use 4-seam fastball, low and inside, for an example. You would then get TWO pieces of feedback: 1 for the location, and another for the pitch type. So if it then turned out to be, let’s say a slider low and inside, the low and inside quadrant would flash, but no ping for the pitch type. If it was a 4-seam fastball, but anywhere besides low and inside, you’d get a ping for guessing the correct pitch type, even if the location was wrong. AND, if you then guessed BOTH correctly, you’d get the extra juicy double ping, and then you’d be set.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out a way to get guess pitch in ‘24 to work like this. If I guess 4-seam fastball low and inside, but it’s a 4-seamer anywhere else, there’s nothing. If it’s a pitch low and inside of any other type, there’s nothing. I’ve tried every conceivable variation of the settings, I THINK, and I can’t replicate the way it worked in ‘09. And I’ll be honest, it’s REALLY throwing me off, even after all these years, because I instinctually am expecting it to be neither thing I guessed when I get no feedback, and then look silly when I’m not expecting a pitch in the guessed quadrant, or when it’s the pitch I guessed but somewhere else. And then, turning the guess pitch off completely, I’m having a REALLY hard time reading pitch type and location - ESPECIALLY location - coming out of the pitcher’s hand. Call it getting old, I guess.

So my question is: is there no way to get the guess pitch to work like I remember it in ‘09? Is this just the new norm? Were people complaining about it back in the day or something, so they did this as a compromise for online play?

I used to use it a lot, but haven't for a couple of years now. It doesn't seem to help like it did before.

As a fellow RTTS player, I don’t think guess pitch works properly anymore. I always have it set to no feedback. On the very rare occasions I use it I still get feedback. So I assume the rest of it is not working as intended too. Just like two button dive/catch.

@Red_Ted_is_back_PSN It seems like a lot of things with '24 aren't working as intended, it would seem.
