I'm a timing/directional hitting interface offline player. There is no reason for good timing on swing with ball in the strike zone to ever be swing and miss or weak contact, especially when it's straight down the middle. I've had more good timing swing and misses in the strike zone in season 2 than foul balls, that's how bad it is.

That kinda defeats the purpose of casual offline play, it was never that big of an issue before this year, timing should be based on timing like it's always been. But now it's like, ok you timed it right, now you might hit it, or you might not. Or it could be an under 70mph pop up or ground ball on good timing.

@AcidicCreed7_XBL Yes but you're relying on RNG for everything but timing. And the "R" in RNG stands for Random.

The game has a lot of RNG and it does a pretty decent job at taking player attributes into consideration. I don't use timing but I can say from pinpoint/zone the RNG can't be worse than timing/directional.
Even if you get perfects it kinda becomes a rock paper scissors between your two cards ie batter-pitcher.
If the pitcher has high stats in strike outs per inning and or hits per inning he will likely win the duel early in the game while his pitch count is low

That is why I could never get into timing hitting. Other than timing you are leaving everything up to player attributes and some RNG
