Wild Cards and Team Affinity

So...I just did a test playing the East Affinity Conquest. I put Kerry Wood at my wild card to see if his stats would count towards TA progress. They did NOT. Is this going to be how multi-player works as well? If so, I think I'm out. When there are four eligible wild cards that would mean almost half our lineup would be garnering NO PROGRESS towards anything. This leaves two choices, both bad: 1. Don't use wild cards. 2. Spend additional time grinding against the CPU because half the stats from multi-player don't count towards anything. Option 1 renders season 1 completely pointless while option 2 seems like a whole lot of unnecessary work. No thanks to either.

Sorry...must have missed that. Regardless...it's kind of stupid don't you think? The entire design of this game this year is geared towards pushing players towards multi-player. How does this decision promote that goal? So we are basically playing a game in which you can use the best cards for about a week until the season expires. But...never fear...if you want to use those cards online moving forward, there's wildcards...but those don't count towards progress in the current season. So now you have to spend additional time grinding out those cards (for a collection you can maybe use for a week until December). But...don't worry...we will make sure to nerf your xp so when you're grinding against the cpu you won't be making progress towards this season's program...but it doesn't really matter because you can only use those cards for a week as well.
Does any of this sound ok? I actually kind of like the idea of wildcards and the lineup diversity it creates...but I dont want half of my stat progress to not matter. Am I wrong?

I actually don't mind it, I like the fact that it forces you to start over and play with other cards

Why would it be stupid that season 1 cards dont count towards season 2 TA? It keeps Core cards relevant for the entire year now.

How do I add my wildcard player to my Team Affinity mini season? It does not give me any option. The only option I get is to add wildcard to my squad but not in mini season.

@yurmyboyblue_PSN for TA2? Isn’t that restricted to S2 and Core cards?

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN I think it is but when I go to manage squad it has a filter for wild cards but nothing comes up. If that is the case is wild card only available for online multi-player games? This is so confusing

I put SA Elly as my first WC.
Sure, he doesn't count for TA, but he does count for XP, and helps 'keep the lineup moving.' His speed and home runs still help out when others let you down, like Hyper Griffey, who still is so inconsistent. -
@yurmyboyblue_PSN the filter is there as there is only one “manage squad” UI template. It doesn’t mean you can use one, or any S1 card for that matter.

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN Oh boy I grinded hard to be able to use Jimmy Rollins in TA mini seasons as that is my favorite part to play in DD. It allows me to use him in classic mode tho.

@yurmyboyblue_PSN for TA2? You can’t. You can only use Core and Set 2 cards. It’s restricted to those. Rollins is a Set 1 card, ineligible for TA2 mini seasons.

TBH, I had every eligible card in already, then just replaced Jeter at SS with him. I looked at the top and the green 'S2 eligible' was still green. I really just added him with nothing asking me if I wanted him as a WC!

Theres really nothing confusing about it. TA mini seasons and the TA conquests have a season 2 requirement. You cant use a wildcard obviously.

Yes. I'm using the 90 CORE Gehrig at first. He counts for AL East stats.

I just want to note (not posting in here for a little while) that, some mentioned the viral word of "diversity", i'm going to go out on a limb more like a thick [censored] tree branch and bet that diversity, is the reason there has been so many programming errors in this game opposed to years passed. Being how they are obviously in San Diego, lol it's not about who's the best person for the job, it's about diversity, but when you fly do you care what your pilot looks like if they are the most qualified????
