Moonshot Event

Should've just named it Carlos Santana Switch-hitting Captain Tier 3 boost with Common pitchers where you opponent throws in the dirt.
-
So dam true man. I'm running an all hitting royals theme team and the other teams I'm playing against you guess it carlos Santana switch-hitting captain tier 3 boost.
-
No-it-is-not-a-bad-meta-comments-incoming … Well, it is a bad meta they created. Santana-boost has no downside (like every other captain boost)
-
Will JD martinez be in the rewind packs in the next event? Since we are moving to season 2 rewards in the next event, I wonder if these rewind packs will start over with the new content or continue as they have been.
-
I stopped playing it cause I don't have big enough power hitters to take advantage nor am I good enough, but what else is the strategy in that mode? If you throw strikes it's getting smacked. So to me I can understand why they throw balls and [censored] pitches. The only way I see you win is just hit more homeruns than your opponent and if you can't hit more than you gotta find another strategy.
-
@YOSHI24 who is they? You mean SDS?
-
@AdeptOfMemory yup , that's the idea of moonshot, hit more Homers than them.
You should still play it since there are as many bad players as good.
I got smacked around for 15 runs then next game I scored 7 in the first , dude quit .
I think it's worth it. -
The switch team is overrated. I don't run it because it doesn't give me a decisive advantage.
Yes, you can see the ball better from opposite hand Pitchers, but in the past, when I played more, I had more trouble from opposite hand Pitchers spamming hard Sliders and stuff inside.
I do just as good vs same hand Pitchers.... At the least, I can lay off Sliders away from same hand Pitchers, better than I can from the stuff coming in from across the other side of the plate.
-
@jaychvz Maybe and you're probably right but I don't like being frustrated playing games. Moonshot in 23 really rubbed me wrong so I kinda swore it off. It was the same as BR to me. Too easy for the better players to dump on the less skilled. I might try it as you say but I don't have high hopes.
-
I don't do online but tried it last few days and pretty accurate what the OP said.
Also, like someone else posted a few weeks ago, seems like everyone playing is top tier players. No regular guys like me to play against. I did have like 2 games that were competitive. The others I had no chance.
I guess I'll stick to casual online to get good games.

exactly. maybe i'm too naive but I go into these online events thinking I'm going to go up vs someone who wants to play baseball. not home run or nothing. Just make a home run derby event and stop trying to fool people into thinking there's actual baseball strategy in these online events.

@LuvMyXBOX eh … that is the purpose of the moonshot event. It is Homerun or nothing. People love it and be proud hitting nukes at shield woods ..
That is the way it is and that is why I will never participate in it. But again: People love it … reallyIf you want „fairer“ lineups, wait for Season 2 and play events/ranked then. Lots of people will have to start with Core-Lineups

I’m working on finishing the al central and west ta. Right now I’m running with all al central. I could use the boost but what I’ve seen is most players who use it are t very good. And the ones that are are going to hit regardless of the boost
-
I would say like 20-30% are still using this in events. played out.
-
@YOSHI24 The downside is: the boost is less significant.
