Check swings

Is there a certain technique to check swinging? Someone I just played check swung on nearly every pitch that was close to the zone and only had it called once or twice. Just confused because it seemed nearly impossible for me to get a strike on a pitch outside the zone, it would either be a check swing or a very early/late foul ball and he’d live to see another pitch. Just really annoying when it looks like someone’s trying to swing at everything and the game bails them out time after time.
Side note: I know gold Frank doesn’t have great fielding but he probably shouldn’t drop line drives directly to him every other game. -
Someone who has high discipline can check swing easier.
Game isn’t bailing them out. It’s players with high attributes in discipline. Players with low it will swing more times than not.
