Game 1: My opponent quit (dashboarded) in the bottom of the first inning; after his third straight fly out. XP earned, after the game shown on the Rewards screen, 6,172.
Game 2: Won 1-0 in a 3 inning game. XP earned was 505
How did I earn almost 12x as much in the first game, where I didn't even get to bat?
