@TheSimplications that's how it's supposed to operate as well in DD but it doesn't. The game is bugged and has been since 22. 23 had this same problem.

@AdeptOfMemory is there any way around it or is this one of those things with no solution that will always fly under the SDS priority list?

Is there any way to properly warm up a pitcher without being punished just because you got a few extra hits?

@TheSimplications I hate to say it but...idk. It might just go under the radar cause it did the entirety of TS23. I remember complaining about it then and like two days later I watched a YouTube guide from CJ12K and I learned about insta warming up pitchers and that it's best the just throw your relievers in at the first inning and leave them since they don't lose stamina and you won't forget to put them in later.

It's just SDS unfortunately. They don't really fix a lot of bugs. I'm not trying to [censored] on them for it right now cause I already do and have forever now but, I don't think they will fix it any time soon. It's also the least worrisome bug in the game. You're the only person to say something about in the forums recently.

In online play players will milk the insta warm reliever trick to the ground. It's just a part of the game sadly.

    I see two posible solutions.

    1. Use stretch and toss minimun 1 batter. When you choose to get that pitcher into the game, put him on warm up, without pitching to another batter. Then, get a mound visit and you could see your pitcher have a 3/4 of warm. Get that pitcher into the game and use the rest o warm up pitches to warm up him entirely.

    2. You could search on the options of the game that pitchers dont need to warm up. And when you get it into the game they are warm and without lose of stamina.
I use this strategy, but with the instructions of my first solution (stretching and tossing, then warm up with the mound visit)

@AdeptOfMemory it's not like DD, sometimes it can take an entire inning for them to become full. Quick innings do hurt their warmup but if you change a setting to allow for warmup pitches (pitching with no one at the plate for 8 pitches) it can help.

Yeah this is ridiculous. It’s also just so inconsistent too. Doesn’t matter how I do it… I have tried every way and it’s a 50/50 chance whether or not they will lose stamina. I am tired of it because it effects the overall performance of my pitchers and it’s a bug that is in the only mode I care about… which is a mode SDS has clearly disregarded since DD emerged

I have never had a problem with my bullpen. When i get one up to get ready for the next inning, I usually wait until I get 1 out. If I forget and have to quickly put him in the game, if I use the 8 practice pitches they are always ready before I even get to pitch 8. Now...I have forgot that I had a pitcher warming up and he got tired but that has only happened once or twice. What i will do if after that 1 out happens and he starts warming up and I then have a long inning, In will go back in and set it to have him come in the next inning. I have never had the pitcher come in too tired or not ready.

So I use the feature “Schedule to put in game”

That way it’s more of a seamless transition when switching to the next half inning. You cannot “schedule to put in game” unless the pitcher is over half way warm. Which means “Stretch and Toss” doesn’t allow you to schedule your bullpen arm to go in the following half.

I could “stretch and toss” then in between innings press start, then bring in the relief pitcher. My point is… this is a broken feature of the game. I understand that managers must regulate the pitchers in the bullpen from throwing too much to get warm, which is realistic… but it’s so inconsistent in the game that it is completely not realistic at all.

When I am on offense, I could start warming up a pitcher at the start of an inning, schedule him to come into the game and then end my offensive half inning in six pitches… and then it’s about a 50% chance the bullpen arm is coming in with a 25% (ish) penalty.

This feature is broken. We shouldn’t have to work around it. If we do, it’s a glitch in the game. Unless I am misunderstanding this feature

    Solution for SDS:
The easiest solution is- allow us to the option to “schedule to put in game” so long as the pitcher is active in the bullpen. Whether the pitcher is in “stretch and toss” mode or “warming up”, the pitcher will go in the next half inning. If the pitcher didn’t get enough warm up pitches in the pen, he goes in cold. This would solve the problem of pitchers losing stamina when they enter (so long as you do the following: “stretch and toss” “schedule to put in game” without warming them up). They will go in cold, but then 4-6 warm up pitches will have them ready and boost confidence in pitches.

This would require the least amount of work from SDS, could easily be a patch in the game. It doesn’t completely solve the glitch in the game but it allows an easy out to work around it until a legitimate fix is in place.
