When it was Roman, Luis, and Steven at least it felt natural and had chemistry. It's crazy they hired the streamer Ashely to be this lead presenter and it has never felt more stiff and plastic.
I keep saying the fall of SDS is gonna be one heck of a Netflix documentary

People always hate on the live streams. Are the scripted? Yes. Are they cringe for many? Yes. I don't expect the format to change.
I don't mind them myself. I also don't find them particularly necessary when 95% of the cards are revealed on twitter before the stream even happens.
Personally I would suggest skipping the live stream if you hate it that much. If anything worthwhile is mentioned you can watch it on YouTube after the fact, making liberal use of the ability to skip around to the parts you are interested in, or even watch it at a faster speed.
Uh, what? I couldn't care less about a cringe live stream if they hadn't shat all over their community the whole cycle. My only interest in it is to see whether or not they man up and actually address the community and apologize.
I'm not "people," and I haven't "always hated on" these livestreams. My position was very specific and very clear. The cringe becomes insulting IF they don't address the real stuff. That shouldn't be hard to understand.

Make or break for me starts with S2. If S2 isn't radically different then my time playing will be much shorter than it usually is and frankly, if this is the same setup for next year then my days playing this game are done.
One of my biggest gripes was realizing that even with tomorrow's content that I won't be able to get one of the S1 bosses. I will still be 15 or so cards short and that's with spending roughly 150K to buy up as many of the 10K and under cards as possible. So unless I drop another 100-150K then I'm basically waiting until the last week to finally get one of these cards to play with only to have the rug pulled by the end of S1.
I sold off my Albies, Goodrum, Elly, Happ and Moncada at the beginning of the week and likely won't buy them back because I won't get to use them in S2. I rarely sell off cards because I am always flush with stubs (still am at 3.2M) but this year, knowing I can't carry forward cards (unless Core) I decided to sell so I had max stubs heading into S2.
XP path is annoying but less so given no purchases need to take place to obtain these cards but the fact we still won't have much opportunity to use them (unless you no life the game (cough 2 hours spent on rookie playing the cpu with custom rosters) is frustrating.
So TLDR: S2 is the make or break for me.

Yeah, it's the B Team for sure. I think the only thing that might save it for me if they don't apologize -- I don't think they will -- would be an appearance by CBrev. But then if he shills out, that would be the worst possible thing...

While I think the communication from SDS is inexcusably bad with responses to issues, comparing the game to Cyberpunk or NMS is some disingenuous nonsense.

Luis and Steven were baseball fans and that showed. I think Tips was hired because he was such a big fan and caught their eye.

I don't need to point out everything wrong with content it's been stated to the moon and back, that said today's content and the content stream will determine for me and I think many others how invested and engaged we are the rest of the way.
So far the TA reveals are sub par at best nothing exciting and many we have had as TA bosses many times.
So for me there will be two main things I am looking for

Do they address any of the cristism during the stream, this would at minimum show they are listening and seeing what's going on. I don't see that it's likely but it's what I need to see.

Any indication that content will be spaced out better, this waiting 4 weeks and dropping a massive amount of refreshes isn't enjoyable break this stuff up and give me a reason to log in each day
All they had to do was copy and paste the DD format from 2019, and just add new content every year. I'm not sure which corporate stooge has messed this up so badly.

Agree but the truth is we might not see real progress until season two as I am guessing most of season 1 was pretty much locked in and made it hard to change much outside of maybe XP and Stub reward values. I do agree what is said on the stream in a few hours will say a lot cause we have not even gotten an apology for how bad of a launch this was in terms of bugs and such. Also not saying I wants free stuff just want them to shoot straight with us and show they are listening to all the feedback.

First off, why?
Secondly, I never compared the games per se; I was comparing dev responses, specifically the willingness to apologize.
In that sense, the game or studio doesn't even matter -- the willingness to act like an authentic human does.

Like some in this thread have already mentioned - This stuff is planned before the game even comes out. So if anyone has hopes of them “changing course” and just doing away with expiring cards or not hiding the wild cards in the reward path…I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news.

I'm not looking for things to change overnight, I think what we are looking for is some acknowledgment of what the community has raised issues about.
They have done this before MLB 18 they made a huge long post about souvenirs and how it was impacting things, there have been other instance were SDS has addressed concerns it not outside them to do it but if the do this stream and nothing is even mentioned in a realistic way it will impact the community
I'm not crazy enough to think it will kill the game or anything like that but players that help drive this game and prop up the player base will drop off and that will have the impact

Yeah, they used to be much more open. Shoot I remember various devs like Ramone posting on forums on Operation Sports. But times have changed. I think they stopped when they just started getting insulted no matter what they posted.
Streams now are not community update streams. They are hype streams. They are marketing streams. Because they are marketing streams they will not acknowledge any issues or complaints.

So there is 99 Trevor Story coming in a pack at the same time that an 89 version is deep into the Season reward path.
I am now convinced that this game is dead as it's being run by people who are not qualified for what they are doing.

What that tells me is that they did not learn their lesson last year in planning out these card releases better. I have not even gotten the XP path Story yet.
