I had a few hours to play yesterday after returning from my fiancee's and found myself wandering over to Fallout 4. DD burnout is real, but so is DD ennui. There's a palpable lack of focus and urgency and vision to DD this year.
I canceled ps-plus and factory-reset my ps5 last night and will be giving it to a nephew or chucking it -- probably the latter. MLBtS has jumped the shark for me, SDS has disgusted me with its non-response to this year's launch/problems, and my life is at risk with NCAA literally right around the corner, lol. (I'm the guy who used to buy Athlon annuals to do rosters myself back in the day...)
I'll miss my Nationals and Pirates franchises, but will probably drop 10 pounds in the next 2 weeks.
Peace, all
If anyone wants to buy a used DualSense for ps5, message me!
There is an update for Fallout 4 coming for PS5 this week. I wouldn't chuck it out.
Lol, nah, that's even MORE reason to chuck it. But thanks.
Life changes incoming, turning 50 in a month, annulments nearing their conclusions, and the treadmill beckons once again...
Plus, the passing of Dicky Betts (of the Allman Brothers Band) last Friday really affected me. It reminded me that I used to spend HOURS every day decoding his and Duane's stuff on guitar, then Warren Haynes's stuff, then Jack Pearson...doing things that had palpable positive effects on my life away from the monitor.
Today it's make a playlist for cardio, one that will include the original version of "Blue Sky." You all should give that a listen...=)
Great tune. Even better considering Duane had to convince him to sing it. Wouldn't sound the same with Gregg.
Fillmore version of "Elizabeth Reed" for me, though. Best jazz jam ever by a non-traditional jazz combo. Solos are a masterclass in improv, complete with all the signalling.
Enjoy the treadmill. Hopefully you're not on one for a stress test in 12 years or so. That sucks.
But they let me go home and I hit 260K over the weekend, so there's that. Likely won't make it to the bosses, but oh well.
Filmore is the best. There are lots of versions of those sets out there. The album version is spliced together from all those takes.
I wouldn't call Liz Reed anything close to jazz just because it's not a straightforward pentatonic rocker. It's a bit modal, that's all. Neither Duane nor Dicky knew much jazz, really. Now Jack Pearson, on the other hand...

Maybe not. But its straightforward Play the Head-Solo-Musical Cue when you're done-Next Solo-Back to the Head when everyone's done structure makes it a joy to listen to. At least he's back with Duane, Berry, Butch and Gregg now.

Yes! Agreed. If you've never heard it, check out the "You Don't Love Me / Soul Serenade" from King Curtis's funeral. That might be my favorite extended jam from the OG ABB.

@Blind_Bleeder i'm at the same point. i'm enjoying the game sorta...but you either have to make the show your job to unlock content and not have to buy stubs, OR you have to buy stubs to get cards to keep up. NCAA Drops and they have a MUT College football style thats decent i'll be going there. If i'm going to be forced to buy packs to keep up, id rather it be for College football. Plus i know all EA wants to do is take my money, at least they are honest about it.

Only 50? Heck, keep the console because once you retire, you may want to heed the call of the sound of the crack of a bat through a pair of speakers.
I'll be 63 this year and while I get too motion sick for first person games, MLBTS is the perfect type of game for this old geezer. I will probably end up ditching 24 for NCAA football, though.

I'm banking that there will be a newer generation of consoles by the time I retire, lol.

@Teak2112
I do not have the time to play online as much as I want. This year I have grinded mostly offline and it does seem like less content in that regard.I could be wrong, but regardless, I would like to hear @Ericulous1 on this matter.... He is someone, from his past comments, that I know has played a lot of offline content.
-
@Teak2112 I do not understand it quite yet. The offline grind is heavier in TA2 … but you can do it.
You can do every „other program“ without playing online … it is just harder (which it is okay to you, I thought at least)The only cards you can‘t get offline is rs and br or am I missing the point?
If you compare 24 to 23, it is way more focused to online (which I like). 23 was the total opposite.
This year, I liked TA1 the best, because you had more ways to grind offline.
I like the online component way more, because it is less grindy (at least imo). Just play and eventually you will get there. I just got my 20th win in events and with that I had the NL West and AL East completed. After 1 week, that is pretty fine, because I do not have to complete TA2 in 1 week. -
@Blind_Bleeder I agree with this. The free cards included in the xp path honestly aren’t that great until you get to the end.

After 1 week, that is pretty fine, because I do not have to complete TA2 in 1 week.I think what happened is that the online preferred folks complained last year, and rightfully had their complaints addressed. However, it was at the expense of other areas. For example, I miss the TA henchmen. I liked doing the individual pxp missions because I enjoy trying out new players. By the end of last year I had most Topps now in the p2/p3 range. And now I have to spend stubs to get all the Topps Now cards, stubs that maybe last year would have gone to all the BR cards and event cards
And even if it doesn't necessarily drive what I want to to play, the message is loud and clear with the exp: 80k online modes (BR/ranked/event) vs 0 offline modes (MS, Conquest) with the TA part 2 content drop.
-
@BJDUBBYAH everything except BR. Hate that game mode.
