where is the content?

why do people who think they are smart do dumb things and hurt the masses
garbage cards below 89 and no new programs, nothing to work on bc they gated seasons and team affinity into part 1 etc....this is stupid
-
Silly kids screaming I want everything now. Easter program drops tomorrow
-
@RetroGZY
There will be plenty of content and the power creep is fine. Tomorrow's content should be to your liking. -
@Tylerslikewhoa I don’t think OP is saying “I want everything now”. The format of the game has completely changed in recent years.
There’s WAY less offline content than in years past. Playing mini seasons over and over again without anything else to really do gets old quick…
-
@xElRojo44x I’m just afraid it’ll be a program that only takes a couple hours to do and then there’ll be nothing else for two more weeks.
-
“Buy packs and stubs and stfu” - SDS, probably
-
I have been very critical but even I realize we are only 14 days in so far ( including Early Access ) and the season just started so give SDS a little time. Also maybe let them fix the game some before bombarding us with content too.
-
@blitz77tw fair enough. Once they’re ready, bombard me with content. I want to them to prove me wrong and make me complain that I can’t keep up
-
@xElRojo44x There is no evidence there will be "plenty of content". There's certainly not "plenty" now. Plenty of packs to buy, though. And there is no power creep. They are swapping out, entirely, one set of cards for another, every month. There is nothing "creep" about it. The range of overall in a chapter will be exactly the same on the last day as on the first and the floor of the next chapter will be higher than the ceiling of the prior one. That is not, in any way, a "power creep".

Not true part 2 of season 1 is mid 90s and part 3 is high 90s and 99s.

I might have over stated it by saying bombarded cause the more I think about it if it's like TA we will breeze through that in a week or less. I think that is something they have to balance in making sure it takes SOME time but not so that it feels like we have to grind our butts off.

Opening day was just today.
Last year the official release day was only 2 days before opening day. This year it was 9 days before (13 if you got early access). So last year they were able to start capitalizing on actual games much quicker.
Let's see how the next few weeks go. I assume we will start seeing things like Topps Now in a week or so. The current schedule ends tomorrow so we can see if they update it. We should also be getting the next phase of Team affinity in the next few weeks (I think).
So, I think it is premature to condemn them for the lack of content quite yet.
-
@Dolenz yeah that’s fair. We’ll see what happens.
-
Its tough not to judge early. It really is.
Part of the problem is the 4 choice packs. They also released 4 or 5 choice packs early last year as well, but had the awesome WBC content
I think the big offender this year is the fresh start pack, because its a fantastic idea for a program and something I hope they run with. It is definitely possible they have a program planned for this still though, especially with the recent moves like JD and Snell.
But until today one of the platforms couldn't even play the game, and now our future stars all seem to have some horrendous physical disorder. So maybe the delayed content is better, so the game can be properly patched up in advance of the content.
-
After having 99’s off rip last year, it feels like I’m grinding for worthless cards. I’m already burnt and really don’t wanna continue.
-
Kinda feel similar

gotta have patience... last year MLB The Show was throwing everything at people Day 1 and some people thought it was awesome to get 99s day one, others not so much... definitely need them to drop those "custom" Mini Seasons soon though but other than that I feel like we'll get a consistent roll out this year which will hopefully allow players like me to get everything (or a little closer to everything) done... last year I had to abandon some programs for the newer programs... for example I don't think I ever completed Moonshot, Father's Day or Extreme and I don't think I completed any of the Topps Now or POTM as I was focused more on trying to complete Team Affinity... So far this year I have completed Starter and NL East S1C1 and I am nearing completion on Spring Breakout and that's with me playing for like an hour on weeknights and then every few hours for an hour or so at a time on weekends... one things for sure it's keeping me from burning out and jumping on the game because of FOMO.
Egg Hunt should be fun again this year, so we'll see how that goes this weekend.
