I haven't had the CPU throw multiple balls in a row even once, so I'm not believing that the CPU only throws balls unless you can show proof that it actually happens
-
@genopolanco No doubt on the greed factor. Games never benefit when microtransactions are the priority.
Some of the bugs are beyond me. Like how does the pitcher 'very late' bug go unnoticed? The only way that happens is if zero testing is done.
-
@Skarmaen
Do you remember when Ramone got caught on a hot mic back in like 2020 making fun of the player base? After that, their communication went from well above average to nearly non existent. I just feel like that was kind of a turning point where it’s now them vs us. But the acceleration of wanting more micro transactions was going to happen either way so it’s probably a coincidence.
But I do think the player base would be much less upset right now if they actually communicated like human beings.
-
@Skarmaen how do you have donaldson be your opening day chase player, but not know his pinpoint is bugged?
-
the game should be in beta or tech testing right now instead of being released. its almost like they didn't even test the game, just put it on the market and hoped for the best.

we beta testing for em right now

I have had 8 walks in a conquest game and 5 many times. Most games are 1-3. This compared to previous years where I probably had less than 8 the entire game cycle. They are definitely throwing more balls on rookie & veteran. I agree that this is on purpose to slow us down. Conquest games are taking 5-10 minutes longer on average.

@Pergo
I don't understand how pointing out bugs in a video game qualifies as "conspiracies".

The pack luck is the worst it’s ever been I pulled 1 diamond so far in almost 200 packs
Mine has been pretty bad this year - one diamond from a standard pack so far, and I've opened 200+ so far.
The weird thing... I always have terrible luck with Headliners. This year, I've pulled Mickey 3 times, so go figure. I've also pulled Matt Waldron 3 times.
-
@go4stros25 Its not the pointing out bugs, its the stuff about how its being done on purpose to slow players down or whatever the conspiracy of the day is.

We've been beta testing this game for years now. It's a carbon copy of last year, the year before, and the year before that. Other than changing the year, updating the roster, and changing the menu to the abomination that they are now, nearly nothing is different. There's really no justifiable excuse in my eyes for there to be this many bugs in the game. SDS spent more time figuring out how to get blood from a stone via monetization than improving the bugs that would have at least made this a finished product at release.

BUT THERE"S FLOWING HAIR!!!!

@go4stros25 the guy above him literally wrote “I agree this is being done on purpose to slow us down” it’s not pointing out bugs lol.
The only difference I notice between difficulties is how obvious the ball is outside. On the higher ones the pitch starts in the zone and trails out trying to get you to chase. Change ups land just under, sliders just inside. On rookie it’s a foot outside to make it obvious it’s a ball. It’s BY DESIGN to be easier to read, not because they are scared at the pace rookie players unlock free cards given out by the same Devs.

@Bearsfan217_XBL My game is the same as your game. Don’t swing at balls. Walks are just as good as hits. If @SuntLacrimae50_PSN thinks playing baseball is a “grind” maybe he doesn’t like baseball that much.
-
Again: the actual strategy guide in-game states that rookie hitting should see more strikes.
Again: almost zero middle-middle pitches on rookie.
Again: most at-bats start 3-0.
Again: people don't play on rookie to "play baseball" or work counts.
Again: the game is meant to be a grind. SDS actually uses that word.
Again: I don't swing at balls. I just want rookie to play like it's supposed to.

Some things never change bro.

@fubar2k7 you seriously bitching that there are different skill levels? Don't like rookie? Don't play on it. Gatekeeping mlb because people want to play on rookie isn't the flex you think it is.

Look man, it has already been acknowledged by your buddies at SDS that it is broken and they are "looking into it" so just stop already. ️

I have kept quiet on these debates so far but with the increased number I am seeing I feel I should finally put in my 2 cents worth.
First off there are a number of things I dislike about the game. mmonetization, forcing game modes ie showdown down my throat that I don't want to play, but I manage and suck it up.
What I real see though is this "cpu throws too may balls" [censored]. I call it [censored] because year after year everybody complains that this game is nothing but a homerun derby, that we need my ways to score runs, that the game needs to be more realistic. So what has sds done, they've tried to do that and now we are getting posts saying that I am not seeing meatball after meatball on rookie.
My experience so far playing on rookie through hof is that the cpu pitchers are throwing strikes /balls at a more realistic mlb rate. Have any of the people making these complaints ever played or watched a baseball game? The most elite pitchers in baseball have a 60/40 strike to ball ratio, which is pretty close to what I am seeing in this game. I am not hitting as many hrs, but I am scoring runs in more ways...singles, doubles, sackflies...I am find myself playing more realisticly then past years...stealing more, moving runners etc and in that regard I've had more fun this year.
I don't know, maybe growing up in the 80's and 90's when baseball was exciting as opposed to today where it's homerun or bust (Which I find boring btw) has skewed my opinion, but I am finding this year's game the most realistic we've had.
I know this will be an unpopular opinion and I know I will be called a suck up or sds simp, but I don't care, this is what I see and how I feel. As I said there's plenty of scummy things that sds does, but as far as game play, to me, that isn't the problem. Sorry for the long post, but I had to say my peace. Cheers.
