So my last two games I've given up 11 hits. 7 of them have been HRs and 2 our of the 4 non-HRs were "ok" contact singles by the pitcher. I had a post earlier about how my 5 most used SPs and 5 most used RPs were giving up HRs on 33% of their base hits and how that was WAY higher than the average. I seriously can't figure out how to compete when I'm giving up HRs on 7/11 base hits.
I've been a WS player every year but can't get out of the 600s this year. So without even getting to HoF difficulty yet, I'm giving up 3-4 HRs a game and my ERA is well over a run higher than it's ever been.
As an example, in 34.1 innings with Hal Newhouser I've struck out 52 people and only given up 28 hits. My whip is a respectable 0.98 but my ERA is 3.93 because 10 out of the 28 hits I've given up have been HRs. That's an INSANE percentage. I literally can't compete when I'm giving up HRs on 30% or more of my hits.
