If you are not going to invest in your own wind or solar farm with UPS backup or at least a reliable failover generator, can you really say you are putting in the 150% effort required for those 8 program points?

I mean, yes it sucks, but on SDS's end they would not be able to tell the difference between a power outage and a rage quit, it looks the same on their end. People would just always lie about it being their power if SDS started overturning everything.
Yea I fully understand that but at the same time I think dashboarding or quitting should be allowed in a sense. If you’re going to grind out 5-7 hours for 50 or more affinity rather than the quick showdown modes then why is dashboarding a big deal?
I do wish something was in place though. I sent the picture in of the outages in our area to no avail, but I get it, you want to stop cheaters. But even those who do abuse the dashboard method I wouldn’t consider cheaters. Just gonna take them longer to grind. -

Is the dashboarding message or as I like to call it the "last chance" message just for that particular MTO run or is it for ALL future runs regardless if you switch teams? -

If you’re like me and wasted 5 hours of your life on MTO just to have a power outage keep you from receiving affinity points, there’s good news!!! SDS doesn’t give a sh** because there fail safe is perfect. Below is email traffic I received today....
Hello,
Thank you for your email. This message occurs as a fail safe against players disconnecting from games in order to maintain their record. As long as outages continue to occur while playing in MTO this message will continue to appear and you will be ineligible to obtain the rewards from future MTO runs. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any changes to your record as a result of this message.

Apr 5, 4:22 PM PDTI just finished sweeping the Twins in ALCS and when I went to head to World Series a prompt came up and said. Would not be awarded team affinity. I have been playing today and have had 3 power outages and assume this has caused it. I’m at Fort Polk, LA if there’s a need to look up my area and prove this. I have never cheated or dashboarded. This 5 hours I just wasted of my life is gone because of power surges...please fix this!
I even attached a picture showing where I’ve been sweeping the fools with no problem or need to dashboard....didn’t matter. They’d rather you give up, buy stubs, packs, or players outright because that’s the new thing... I’m officially over this company.
The last part is 100% correct.
The only thing this joke of a company cares about is DD and players buying their stupid card packs. aka gambling. They don't want people cheating because well how much does a 85 overall. Roughly 25,000 stubbs.
They had those flash sales a few days ago. 25,000 stubbs for a 85 overall card. Out of curiosity I looked up the cost of that many stubs. $25. $25 for a stupid [censored] pointless card that is no longer any good in a couple months. Even EA is not that greedy. you can buy an elite player pack on Madden for like $5.

What would cause this to happen without a power loss? I started a Tampa Bay MTO last night, I am on game 74 and got the error. I have not quit any game and played continuously from start to game 74 in one sitting. Get on today and get the authentication error.
-
I backed out without advancing after the message and went back in and it is fine now.
-
Do you guys turn off your system from the MTO screen? Maybe that’s the issue. I’ve never had this, but I always back out to the main menu after it saves. Just trying to think of something.

I did confirm with SDS today that when this occurs, it only flags that particular save file. Still pretty harsh losing progress on that particular MTO, but at least it doesnt prevent you from doing a new one or others.

You get 3 or 4 chances.

I’d say no more than three. It did it to me after twice.

I never dashboarded or powered off or anything. Got the error randomly after I beat a mission. I didn’t know what it was and kept playing. Then got it again after winning the season. It’s such bs. Emailed and waiting to hear back. It’s a glitch on their end and I shouldn’t be penalized for it.

SDS should give the benefit of the doubt to a person who takes the time to explain the issue. Seriously, call it "delighting the customer" and grant the game-value-only points...
I'm puzzled when comparing similar real-world customer service where items with actual monetary value are sent to delight the customer...

Same experience here as mentioned above, Authentication error after ALCS with the Angels some time ago. Finished World Series after the last game update indicated it was fixed, same issue. Have sent all relevant screen shots to SDS support, hoping there's a resolution. I'm guessing the MTO save file is corrupted somehow. Will update here with any news.
