I like the Captain enhancements, and look forward to other possibilities in the future. This Captain aspect, which started last year, is a game changer which has a lot of potential.

Captains are much better this year.
Pinpoint has been improved and fixed.
Small but impactful graphical improvements, including "hair physics," player models, and uniform fabric detail.
A few new throwback uniforms -- always a delight. Should be WAY more of these...

@DaboiNoah to add to this....The amount of hit batters with an 0-2 count (at least 1 every conquest game for me)
Also really love how every pitcher in the game is a Gold Glover, and can spin around and make a back handed grab to rob me of a base hit -
To answer the OP question: the storylines. I could listen to Jeter talk baseball all day long. Plus, I’m a huge fan of the history of the Negro Leagues, so I have thoroughly enjoyed their extension into this season.

I like the fact that i can play a 3 inning game of conquest and still win without hitting 5 homeruns. Sometimes winning a 2-0 or a 3-1 game without a home run derby feels better.
