This Is Why

I was trying to figure out why the pitcher was throwing so many balls on rookie, so I paid close attention last game. Every pitch that the pitcher threw, even the ones in the zone were a very late pitch release. Every SINGLE one.
This is not a blame people for their hitting skills issue. This is an SDS needs to fix the pitching issue

I really think SDS did some things to slow down early release players to keep them from progressing very far before the general release. Lowering xp, xp caps, pitches out of the zone, etc. I would imagine the first patch will include a slight increase in xp things and fixing the cpu pitching, among some other tweaks. If that’s indeed what they did, it wasn’t well thought out. I think making things easier that first weekend would’ve generated more buzz and perhaps created a bigger desire to play the game on release. I also feel like they used the early release as a soft opening beta test. Not the best. I still enjoy the game and will continue grinding most of the year.

@MetalDoc17
I think you’re right on the money but this is definitely a bad look. If they don’t want early release players to gain too much progress, don’t have early release. They have no problem collecting our money which is why that will never happen. I like this game, I like SDS, but this stuff is a little silly. At the very least be transparent and allow people to make a choice. But again, that would cost them revenue so they won’t.

@MetalDoc17 y'all paid more so yall should deserve to get really ahead

Thinking the late release bug was an intentional move to slow people down is pretty absurd to be honest. Stupid bugs like that aren't worth the negative response they receive from people and are bad for business
Clearly they don't test their product well enough, this should never have made it into the game

@Teak2112 lol the tinfoil hats are just always out. Play on Vet or AS if there’s too many bad pitches. Get this….you also EARN MORE points and progress faster in every way possible. So no it’s not to slow you down, this is the fastest you’ve ever be able to complete TA. Imagine thinking they NEED to ACTIVELY slow down rookie players.
-
Someone pointed out that the ball issue is happening on Vet and AS too so not just a rookie thing but have not tried it out to verify but seen a couple people say it.

Yes, I see it on All Star. However, the higher the difficulty the less chance they very late release ends up as a ball.
0-2 pitches though are especially prone to drilling the batter in the [censored] on All Star. -
@DeleteyourTTVBTW
Imagine suggesting someone play on a higher difficulty to see better pitches to hit!Pretend we are in the mlb the show 20 era and that comment got posted?
It’s supposed to be easier to hit on lower difficulty, not harder.
Just .02 cents worth.

I admit I struggle a bit to start and seems to be chasing alot but once I showed the CPU I wasn't going to swing off the plate and would crush in the zone maybe it's a bug maybe it's intentional to slow down early release, maybe it's good AI seeing the impatient grinders who needs it get everything done the first weekend.
Maybe we will never know
