cpu throws wayyyyy too many balls on rookie
-
I like the pitch variation in Rookie now. It's too easy for me to slip into "swing at everything" and this keeps me from doing that.
-
We grind this game by accumulating stats. Those stats don’t include walks. Tone down the balls way out of the zone. Also, either get rid of wind altogether or fix the direction glitch when you start a game.
-
@jrballbag nobody is bragging about there record against the CPU on Rookie, it's pretty unrealistic that within 4 innings of a 9 inning game the CPU has over 70 pitches thrown and 40-50 of the pitches are balls, I think a real life MLB Pitcher would find that unrealistic.

Actually, they do include walks - at least for PXP. Walks have the same value as runs, RBIs, and singles.
-
Agree there’s way too many balls thrown so far this year. Started off the first conquest game with 8 straight balls.
-
Again, its a bug with a very clear cause. Just take pitches and check the release. Even the strikes are very late release
Not sure how to report bugs, but it might get more attention if it keeps being presented as the bug that it is and not a gameplay complaint.

Don’t play on rookie then, please don’t ruin other modes because some of you like to play on rookie and just mash hr’s and then brag you are undefeated
Also happens on other difficulties

conquest game
13 walks
2 hit batters
8 hits -
@Blind_Bleeder Talking about stat missions

@chucky97___ omg not a 3-0 count how unfair of SDS to put you in hitters counts.
Again, it's not about the pitcher just throwing balls. The Starting pitcher, first batter of the game, Full Confidence, Full Energy. Has the command of an 11 year old pitching for the first time in Little League. I'm averaging an HBP every Conquest and Mini Season game I've played. And that usually happens on pitch number 8+ of an AB (With only 1 or 2 of those pitches being actual strikes). If I wanted to Chase Cheese Sinkers in the Dirt all day, I'd go play ranked. I'm half tempted to just set my controller down one game and see how many runs I can score without even swinging the bat.
-
Personally, it hasn’t really annoyed me, even as a person grinding. Requires a different approach. It, this is definitely a bug. Somewhere in the pitching code, a command was missed or something. It’s definitely forgetting to “randomize” pitch timing.

What the hell are you ranting about?
Nobody here is flexing about being undefeated on rookie. Pitching is broken on rookie and veteran, period.
People are trying to grind stat missions, not win games and flex. And SDS has made that frustrating to do by making pitchers throw 70-80% balls. Nobody playing on rookie to grind stat missions is trying to "work a count."
And fixing this won't "ruin" other game modes.
What a ridiculous reaction.

@SuntLacrimae50
Amen. That’s exactly it. But the SDS white knights will defend this game no matter the issue.
-
The pitching is bugged, the CPU pitchers have Very Late release on every pitch no matter what. It's like this game wasn't even tested before release.
-
@Dankmaymays I kinda think it’s working as they intended at the start of the season. They seem to have done everything possible to slow down the grind early in the cycle this year. If XP gains for CPU games (etc) aren’t increased soon, I’m gonna be OUT early and unfortunately I’ve already paid good money on the game for digital deluxe and quite a few stubs.
-
I'm not sure it's bugged JUST because it says "very late release" or whatever every time. That in itself could be a visual bug. Who knows. I truly hope it is a bug and not a design decision because that would be terribly disrespectful to the single-player base.
It is very true that SDS is manipulating pace this year. XP has been nerfed and the XP daily cap is there, and they've SAID that slowing things down is their intent. So as much as I scoff at conspiracy theories, the idea that this is intentional to slow down our progress is actually not that out-of-bounds.
-
I completely agree. Not just rookie, it's terrible this year. SDS has to re-tune the CPU pitching
-
I might be out too. And I might put in for a refund if they don't fix the Conquest sim flashbang. It is quite literally hurting my eyes.

Agreed, they can also fix the Yankees soud effect, i mean do we really need to be jolted awake each time we play them? (That air horn) I'm going to avoid playing against them as much as possible this year.

Pretty sure you can disable that in the settings menu.
