Why are the new hair physics they showed off in the gameplay trailer not on the Xbox X/S version of the game? In the gameplay trailer there is text that reads "Captured on Next Gen Hardware". So, is the Xbox X/S not a next generation console? But the X/S has the stadium creator and that is only available on the next generation consoles. I am confused. A couple sports games examples that have hair physics on the X/S are WWE 2k and NBA 2k. And both of those games are the next gen versions that are on the X/S.

The new hair physics are present on the game I’m playing on my series X. Check to make sure you downloaded the correct version.

I have the X/S version installed but I'm not seeing the new hair physics. Strange.

Hopefully they patch it. Heard from people on Reddit it’s doing the same thing for series S/X.

Not sure what you are talking about. I created a RTTS player with longer hair and it seems to work. I think I also remember seeing Elly De La Cruz hair flop around when he was making a play.

    I am playing on a Series X

Maybe series s doesn’t have it? Which is weird because it’s considered next gen.

Yeah I've watched some more videos and noticed that the hair physics are only for the PS5 and Series X. I don't see why it can't be on the Series S.

When I was looking to get my new XBox from what I understand a Series S is just slightly better than an XBox One X and PS4 Pro. I’m gonna guess the little fluttering birds aren’t in the outfield either.

That is the main reason I am confused. Just talking sports games that are available for the Series S. WWE, NBA and UFC I will use for examples have hair physics. I don't know if SDS can put the new hair in with a patch or something but other sports games on the Series S have the hair physics that is now is MLB The Show. It's not like it is an impossible thing to implement on the Series S. I'm not angry that the new hair isn't on the Series S, I am just confused and want to know why.

Now I’m starting to question if the Series S has any of the graphical updates at all.

Yeah. I was curious why the new hair isn't on the Series S version. At the time I created this post I thought the new hair was not on both the versions but now I know it is the Series X version and not the Series S for some reason.

Still trying to get an explanation for why the hair physics are not the Series S. I've sent in feedback tickets through The Show support website. I haven't been on Twitter since around 2018, but I created a new account just to leave comments and message Sony San Diego. I am just looking for an answer. I'm not angry, just confused and looking for an explanation.

Day 8. I would still like to know why the hair physics are not on the Xbox Series S. I am still sending in feedback tickets on the support website. If they have blocked my email, don't if they can do that.

    Here is my understanding:

The absence of new hair physics in MLB The Show 24 on Xbox Series S, while available on Xbox Series X, can be attributed to the differences in hardware capabilities between the two consoles. While both consoles are part of the Xbox Series family, the Series X boasts superior processing power and graphical capabilities compared to the Series S.

Hair physics in video games require significant computational resources to simulate realistic movement and behavior. The Xbox Series X, with its more powerful hardware configuration, likely has the capacity to handle the computational demands of implementing advanced hair physics.

In contrast, the Xbox Series S is designed as a more budget-friendly option with slightly scaled-down specifications compared to the Series X. While it still offers impressive performance for its price point, it may lack the necessary processing power to support features like advanced hair physics without sacrificing other aspects of gameplay or graphical fidelity.

As a result, developers may have opted to prioritize performance and overall gameplay experience on the Series S, potentially sacrificing certain graphical features like advanced hair physics to ensure smooth and consistent gameplay performance.

    Xbox Series S:

    CPU: Custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU @ 3.6GHz
    GPU: Custom AMD RDNA 2 GPU @ 1.565GHz, 20 CUs, 4 TFLOPS
    RAM: 10GB GDDR6
    Storage: 512GB Custom NVMe SSD
Resolution: Targeted for up to 1440p gaming
Frame Rate: Targeted for up to 120fps
Price: Lower-priced option compared to Series X
    Xbox Series X:

    CPU: Custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU @ 3.8GHz
    GPU: Custom AMD RDNA 2 GPU @ 1.825GHz, 52 CUs, 12 TFLOPS
    RAM: 16GB GDDR6
    Storage: 1TB Custom NVMe SSD
Resolution: Targeted for up to 4K gaming
Frame Rate: Targeted for up to 120fps
Price: Higher-priced premium option compared to Series S

@S1LENTEG_MLBTS Thank you for this explanation. I know the Series S and X are different hardware wise, but not to that extent. Could it also be the engine the game is running on? I've brought this up before but other sports games NBA 2k, WWE 2k, Madden and UFC have the hair physics and way better graphics. Is it because they are running on newer game engines and are overall better optimized?
