Doubleday Society Season 5. Evolution Squads and the Farm System.

This season 5, hot on the heels of the release of MLB The Show 24 we have brought back the most popular and exciting features of each of our 4 Doubleday seasons and 1 Dauvray Dup seasons and decided to take it a step further with the introduction of your very own farm system creating an extra managerial and strategic element that many of us have been craving. This new system gradually transitions us through the initial content releases in the first couple months of this new MLB 24 year. While we grind away we will get to experience the not so household of names giving them the chance to have their name in lights and across the leaderboards.

THE BRONZE EVOLUTION SQUAD
Once we have all teams fully signed up, each team will be assigned a starter “bronze” squad picked completely at random by an exciting new lottery event. Draft pick numbers will be pulled during the event and given out to each team to match up to the corresponding player on the bronze player draft list. These players from 65 to 74 overall will fill each team and give us the foundation of our first 2 weeks of play. you will be given the opportunity to trade after the first week of games until...

THE “STUDGATES” OPEN
After 2 weeks of gameplay and grinding, the highly anticipated official draft of “silvers”, “golds”, and “diamonds” begins. The draft has been a huge hit each year and will populate our new “farm systems”.

WORKING THE FARM
After you successfully complete games, you are given the green flag to bring up players from the farm to your mlb squad in the following structure (each week consists of 3 games completed):

WEEK 1 AND 2: BRONZE LEVEL (6 GAMES)
SILVER/GOLD/DIAMOND DRAFT
WEEK 3: 75 OVERALL (3 GAMES)
WEEK 4: 78 OVERALL (3 GAMES)
WEEK 5: 81 OVERALL (3 GAMES)
WEEK 6: 84 OVERALL (3 GAMES)
WEEK 7: 87 OVERALL (3 GAMES)
WEEK 8: 90 OVERALL (3 GAMES)
WEEK 9: 93 OVERALL (6 GAMES)
WEEK 10: 96 OVERALL (6 GAMES)
WEEK 11: 99 OVERALL (6 GAMES)

3 DIVISIONS PACKED WITH THEIR OWN PERSONALITY
THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE EAST DIVISION: the “nice guys” laid back gameplay, competitive pitching, some of the closest scores and epic finishes across the league
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE CENTRAL DIVISION: our newest addition. a league of teams that can hang with the best of ‘em while producing elite pitching and impressive hitting. This division is our “interleague” division where teams experience the occasional east or west opponents as records rise and fall.
THE GOLDGEN GATE BRIDGE WEST DIVISION: the dreaded west where only the toughest survive. games with some of the hottest talents across the MLB show universe. If you can take a lickin’ and keep on kickin’, the west is waiting for you.

THE ALL NEW TEAM AND LEAGUE DASHBOARDS
introducing in season 5 “the doubleday leagues website” where each team will see their full team dashboard featuring lineup management and transactions, daily-updates to stats and boxscores, league leaders, highlights and league news. The best way to track your team and individual player success.

IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT
A huge success has been the mid-season tournament which is a Doubleday Invitational Tournament showcasing the past and present greats of the Doubleday leagues. Details of this exciting tournament will be released in the first half of Season 5.

THE ASG GAMES and the HOMERUN DERBY TOURNEY
A staple in each season that we all look forward to. The Doubleday All-Star Game Weekend. The East, West and now Central collide in this 2 day event giving teams a sneak peak at the talents across the league while they battle as one for their own division to win upgrades and prizes. As usual we will hold contests for the most creative uniform, winning division, and furthest home runs hit in both the games and our classic homerun derby tournament.

LEAGUE RULES

ALL GAMES LIVECASTED This as always is a great feature to enjoy watching other teams matchup and get to know who your opponents are.

FREE AGENTS: Weekly drops and pickups. Done every Saturday by 'waiver claim'

TRADES: 1 Trade per Week based on approval by a pre-established Trade Committee

GAME LENGTH Full 9 Inning games will be played

DD CARD INVENTORY. All cards from the Diamond Dynasty Inventory will be able to be picked

SEASON LENGTH We are aiming for between 40 and 50 games (depending on the number of teams that join) split into two parts. Pre-allstar break and post.

GAME SCHEDULING All games get scheduled and confirmed to keep everyone at a similar games played pace. This is important and once games are confirmed by each opponent there will be a forced win/loss if a team has to bail out. Some circumstances are acceptable but we ask everyone to not confirm games unless they are absolutely sure of the time.

UMPIRING: Either Average or Perfect depending on league voting.

GAMES ARE PLAYED IN YOUR TEAM'S STADIUM When you are the home team, you can choose between your team's MLB Stadium or classic stadium if your team has one.

ETIQUETTE ENFORCED It’s a gentleman’s league. To keep this a friendly community with high
respect for each other, we do not put up with toxic gameplay. 1 WARNING will be given. refer to ⁠game-etiquette section for examples.
