Gaming Router

So I never really paid attention, but I’ve heard people talking about a router designed for gaming rather than using the standard which a company may give you.
Has anyone used a router like this? Was it a massive difference? I have a LG C2 but feel like there’s times that I won’t catch up to a fastball no matter what. I’m wondering if router may play a part in that. Connection is good, but maybe it could be better?

I use a Google Nest Mesh with three satellites with a Cat 6 ethernet cable connected directly into one of the Mesh satellites, PS5, and LG C3. Gameplay is great unless there is latency do to a poor P2P connection in an online H2H game, in which we have no control of. This is why I wish they would give us a ping notification (like they used to).
