Biggest Player/Card Surprises

Who were the cards that surprised you the most this year? Good or bad
Towards the end of the year I’ve been experimenting with players I wouldn’t often use.
I have always sucked with Mark Prior but his 99 Prime card has been lights out.
In 17.1 IP I’ve given up 2 hits and have 25 K’s.
I have tried him before and never had an ERA under 10.00 lol. Never would have expected that.
Also P5’d Dee Strange Gordon’s 84 gold. Hitting .355 through 369 PA’s. His 97, .246 through 121 PA’s. That one made me so sad lol.

For me, it was "Big Donkey", Adam Dunn. I don't know what prompted me to even put him in my lineup, but I loved that card.

Great Race of '98 Shawn Green for me. There's some tiny detail in his hitting mechanics that worked perfectly for me. Started on squad all year after getting him.

It might be his leg kick

@raesONE- Now that you mention it, you might be on to something. I think I prefer hitters who have that kick and/or the aggressive flat foot stomp.

Wild Card Royce Lewis. 168 AB and hitting .345 w 22 bombs. Can play all over the field. Very good swing. If I can hit well rightVright that’s saying something.

97 to start, but Charisma Jeff McNeil was insane. So much so that I had him as 1 of my 3 lefties for that 3-hr Extreme Moment. I never beat that one, but he would always hit his hr!

Finest Eduardo Rodriguez. I wasn’t sure besides a few god like lefties they are hit or miss but his pitch mix and his delivery angle are on point

Also the signature Matt Carpenter card. I know Carp has always had some good cards including two lightning cards for Stl and one for the Yankees, but this Sig card is insane. It flat out rakes!!!
