I am thinking about buying the 99 (award winner, I believe) Andrew McCutchen, currently around 125k stubs, anyone's thought about how the card plays? I enjoyed him in '21 and would believe his swing is still the same but wanted some input of others on their experiences with the card in '23, thanks in advance.

It’s a decent card but nowhere near as good as his 99 in the 2022 game. If you have the stubs go for it but otherwise just don’t be disappointed if he isn’t as good as you had hoped comparatively.

I bought him when he was higher, for my Pirates theme team, and maybe used him a handful of times during the current Event.

Not because I don't like him. Because I'm playing BR now and when I jump back into the Event I'm going to play with different teams. Set 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 team. Pirates theme. Redsox theme. Legends theme. And my GS.

Then, if there is time and it's fixed, I'll hop into some Ranked.

@MrDeweyCoXX_PSN buy him. Worse case you can sell him back. Can't take the stubs with you.

Just to follow up I did get my Andrew McCutchen and his first game he hit 5 hrs two of which were 507' and 501' and every hit had an exit velo over 101, awesome card, reminds me of his '21 & '22 card, final line score 8-8 w/ 13 rbi.

Wow! Two homers of over 500ft in a single game is an incredible accomplishment in my experience! Matter of fact I’ve only done it once but with two diff players - what a massive game!

I've had a lot of success with McCutchen. But as everyone else said, might as well buy him and give it a shot. If you absolutely hate them, you can sell and rake in usually 20-30k.

Were the 5 homers H2H or versus the CPU?

@TheGoaler the game was against the CPU, I do not play online, I am disabled and have only one eye that is sick with glaucoma, but I do understand you wanting clarification. Try playing with one eye closed and the other eye look through a McD's straw, that is my visual field. The challenge to just be able to see the ball (I do not use pci hitting just timing) keeps me playing until the total blindness arrives. I have been married to this game far to long to let a vision set back (going on year 4 w/eye) slow me down with my Love of the Game.

I asked, because that many HR's in online versus would be incredible!
I'm not trying to be a moron. I'm one of the good guys on here. If I was Jesus, I'd heal you on the spot πŸ˜†
Sorry about your situation, brother. I don't play online either, because it's not fun!

@TheGoaler hey no worries, sorry if it came off like that, I am just happy to be able to play the game and have found this site to share my game experience some because I know no one IRL , just taking care of my mother who is disabled as most of ya'll know by now. I know that on different modes like online that those are some very nice numbers, I was just excited that the card still played true to form to the last few years and well worth my hard earned stubs πŸ˜€
