Day 1 99's
-
Everyone hates them but me personally, it made gameplay better from the jump, this game on HOF and Legend with cards that have 100 contact in DD is unbearable, In years past with the power creep model people complained about perfect perfects dying, well that was because the cards just were not good enough for game play. I really think the high ovr cards benefited the game early on. As for the "99s make the game less fun crowd" why, where is the joy using an 89 overall card? All 99's as well arent equal, I just enjoyed having appropriate cards play well from the jump, maybe to avoid duplicates theme out the seasons, start us off with the best of the best from past years April seasons, then May/June Studs, then an All Star/ trade deadline past idea past present future theme, and so on and so on. What do i know tho I barely boot it up anymore.

I guess I'm OK with the day 1 99's. I will say that I had "99 fatigue" by mid-summer.
However, my favorite online mode is still BR, since you're only allowed 3 diamonds. So, that's how I get around that. And I still use lots of non-99 teams to slog through Conquest maps, Mini-seasons, etc.

To me, having 99's Day One is whatever. However, and most importantly, you do not have to implement an expiring cards format with Sets and Seasons in order to have "99's Day One". -
There have always been 99s day one every single year. They usually came from collection rewards (which only a certain number of people were dedicated/rich enough to pursue the first week). The other cards could revolve around BR and WS rewards that players could obtain that have sometimes been 99.
I know they are always going to be around, but to push them out so drastically day one, I felt it took away from the game's experience. Keep in mind that most people are barely building a team or bronzes and silvers and they have to go against Roki Sasaki and 99 Ohtani from Chase Packs in the first week. Unfortunately, I think this method of keeping the best players in the Chase packs made them a lot of money, so it will be shocking to see them remove it. But that being said, as long as Sets are not back this year, then going against 99s (to a degree) isn't the end of the world. They just need to realize that the average person will not have the means or ability to have these cards on their team day one, and it could easily start to separate and possibly alienate players that try to slowly build their squads through normal means.

I had no problem with last years game model. I would want two wild card slots. One for offense and one for pitching. I also want all captain cards to core cards.
-
I guess it doesn't matter anymore. The 99 seal has been broken, never to see 89's again....
Luckily, NHL didn't go this route. We're at 93's atm. -
If they made a sports game geared around Curling it would be a more popular sports game than NHL. No offense. Lol.

@fubar2k7 I see people still comment just to say words on here.

Just messing with him. So annoying to me when people mention other sports games. The “Lol” should have made it clear.
