24 Next gen

Hoping this is the Year they make a next gen version of the game. Kind of like how madden does it, Next gen needs to feel different than old gen. It's time to leave the old gen behind and start building the game for the newer systems.
-
@chucky97____PSN Fingers crossed but nothing changed for the PS4 game when they dropped the PS3 from the lineup.
-
I wonder if that is even SDS' call to make. Wonder if Sony or MLB mandates it to still be available on older consoles since there are still a lot of people playing on the older consoles.
I personally would be shocked to see completely separate versions for the old gen vs new gen.
-
@Dolenz I mean madden and 2k both have separate versions, a next gen version needs to happen or eve next gen only. Its time.
-
Not while they are still dragging the Switch gen games
-
I would not be surprised if SDS kept MLBTS24 at 60fps @ 1080p for the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch... while offering up to 120fps @ 4K with VRR support for the PS5 and Xbox X/S.

There are two minds about this.
Some say that because of how they treated PS3 games when the PS4 came out, they will do the same this year, and 24 will likely be the last year for the PS4 (and Xbox One). In addition, the player base (not just MLBTS) is still larger on the PS4 than the PS5. This is the lastest and prevailing theory.
The earlier one (which I think was more hope than not) is that they will leave the old gen behind and only produce 24 for current gen (but keep the Switch).
Nobody outside of Sony knows for sure; it is all hypothesis.
As far as the current gen game vs the old gen game (of MLBTS 23), it does play differently. The current gen game plays at 120 fps, and there are features in the current gen game that are not in the old gen game. The problem comes when someone with current gen plays someone with old gen, the game drops down to old gen.

@Blind_Bleeder actually is runs at 120 hz, not fps. This game is 60 fps on all consoles except the switch.

Not on my PS5 and XBox X. I have an LG C2 and it is 120fps. I posted pics at the beginning of the year to show it.

@beanball0571 I just took these screenshots because I couldn't find my others. As you can see, 120Hz and 120 fps on both consoles.

Those two things are related. Basically, the Hz is the refresh rate of the display panel, while the FPS is the frames per second the game was created to perform at (natively), as set by the development team.MLBTS will run at a max of 60fps natively as long as your display has at least 60Hz, and your game console can handle it. However, some displays (such as the LG C and G series) 'up ticks' the game's FPS to match the display panel's 120Hz due to HDMI 2.1. Through HDMI 2.1, this display panel offers gameplay performance benefits like VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (('Auto Low Latency Mode' - (which helps to reduce input lag)).
Sadly however, a poor P2P online network connection trumps hardware technology. This is why some users experience horrible online gameplay at times, even if they have an optimal hardware set-up.
For me, this game runs at (up to) 120 fps due to the combined technological ability of the PS5, LG C2, and MLBTS23.
