Bad Swings

So it’s been a thing for years that good swings often wind up being outs and bad swings often wind up being hits.
Maybe this is too obvious, but why not just make good swings hits most of the time and bad swings outs most of the time?
“That’s baseball” just doesn’t seem like a good enough reason to make 8 or 10 or 11 pci swings hits and P or 14-15 pci swings outs. Why does the randomness need to be there?

I know it’s probably just sour grapes but I’ve lost two games in a row to solo home runs on 11 pci swings. Sometimes I wish the game didn’t give you this information because it kinda means nothing unless they explain how outcomes are determined. Sigh.

I think you’re reading into those numbers a little too much some people just have slumps some people go on tears some people get lucky some people get unlucky that’s baseball

@EzMack
Yeah you’re right. SDS has never said anything remotely like X swing equals Y result.The closest they ever came was in (was it 18?) when perfect perfect swings were introduced. At that time, they told us a perfect swing with a card with over 85 power attribute would be a home run X% of the time.
Eventually that changed and now you can even hit a foul ball with a PP.
The pci numbers are probably just a placebo.

I don‘t thing they are placebo … First of all: Baseball is kinda random … Perfects don‘t get hits all the time … But if you e.g. have an 11 pci and still get a HR does not tell the whole story. Your opponent could have had a bad pitch release, which factors „better“ outcome.
The other thing is the recency bias a lot of people fall into … Nobody looks at the whole data, SDS provides … it is just „I had 3 perfects last game and 1 was cought“ … well, yes …
But I don‘t want to defend, I just want to put out another perspective … I do think, that more good contacts should be hits and less bad contact fluke ones) … That would require fielders playing more realistic in the first place (too many balls in the OF are cought by mediocre players) -
@YOSHI24
Yes, you are absolutely right.
I think, for me, there are SO many variables in the game now (as you pointed out) that it is bound to impact the gameplay in a negative way. -

You can tell which ones are bad pci placement homeruns without looking at the analysis, they float out of the park.
