MLB 20 possible RNG exposed

SDS

I know a lot of us say this game is RNG, but this clip may prove it. I was watching Razzorsharpe on stream last night and he hit a good good, but the ball went foul. His feedback then changed from good to late. The clip is shown as a gyazo gif.

I wonder if a dev can address why the feedback was changed

SDS

Something similar happened to me about a week ago. It was a foul ball on good timing but I didn't check to see if it changed to late timing after. Definitely weird

Oh there’s 100% something weird going on and I doubt devs reply to this thread

SDS

Yeah I've had perfect perfect feedback changed to just early after the ball went foul.

SDS

Where’s all the players that like to hi jack these posts by calling players conspiracy theorist/complainers?

Guess that excuse doesn’t work when you have visual proof of how shady this game can be.

Their quick to hand out bans though.

What proof? He was clearly late and the feedback adjusted. It should have never read that (good/good) in the first place. There's a reason it went foul. I'd put it down to more of a glitch in the programming that it got the feedback wrong in the first place.

The feedback "adjusted"? Sure maybe a software glitch, but why would it even show good/good in the first place then? Also very strange that it "adjusted" at the exact moment the ball hit the ground in foul territory...

When you say the feedback "adjusted", do you mean the hit outcome changed the feedback? Because that would be a sign that the hit outcome drives the feedback, which is not how it's supposed to work...

Dev's haven't replied to anything all cycle. Why would they start now? They know they broke their game when they put out patch 1.04.

SDS

Wow, if this is not proof then I don’t what else is. The outcome of the hit should not determine the feedback. That is [censored]-backwards thinking.

The feedback is supposed to determine hit outcome.

For the slow/SDS Defenders...

Feedback —> Hit Outcome

NOT

Hit Outcome —> Feedback

why is RNG in a stat based sports game or any game a conspiracy? 🤣 🤣 🤣

SDS

Video games using Random Number Generators? Nah. never since the beginning of time.

Its not just the rng. We know games use rng. Its how much it is weighed in vs user input. Alot of times it feels as in the play is already dictated before the pitch or bat is swung to the point i can basically predict whats about to happen. Example a get off to a 3-0 lead in early 3rd lets, bottom 3rd comes for my opponent all of sudden my cluber cant locate a single pitch, I walk a batter or two or give up weak contact hits. The very next batter a perfect release pitch is hung for a game tying HR. Things like this are happening in games alot for people and this is why are "complaining" I have Aranado/chapman at 3rd Javy at SS. Between the 3 99 reaction +95 fielding, yet slow dribblers seem to always get through them especially in critical situations

I’d say it’s less shady and more out of order steps in the source code.

Could be that the feedback variables were updated later in the sequence of instructions than the actual displaying of the feedback pop up and then refreshed onscreen... if you can rewatch that part of his stream and check what the feedback was on the pitch prior it might match the feedback that was originally displayed.

Similar thing happened in RTTS (Franchise too I think) where the scorebug was showing batting stats for the previous batter. This was fixed in 1.04.

SDS

This actually happens to me all of the time. It'll be down the line and say good timing at first, but then the moment it goes foul, it'll switch to early timing. I don't think it's necessarily RNG. I just think the timing windows for good goods are way larger this year.

SDS

I don’t understand how anyone can play this game and not think that it is completely full of rng. It’s obvious to me.
