Why did they get rid of program progress?

In the challenges . Instead they equipment packs that give u silver equipment. Not only does the equipment suck , they're only 25 stubs to quick sell . Go back to progress points.

They won't. They are becoming just like EA/2K. They were not generating any microtransactions for a mode that offline only players use, so they intentionally ruined it. Tying it to DD so they have to play to get attributes past 50, and increasing the odds that someone gets frustrated and buys stubs to get what they need.
I suspect they are purposely trying to get rid of franchise/RTTS completely and make the entire game DD, but they need to make these modes "unplayable" for the people who cannot stand the shenanigans that come with online play. Then after enough of the offline only players stop purchasing the game they can say "nobody plays these modes" and turn the entire game into MLB The Show: Microtransactions Edition.
