Have you tried playing other modes that exist besides DD?

I think many of us have to reconsider our approach. A lot of us remember when acquiring every card that was released wasn’t such a monumental task. But they’ve released so many cards and so many programs now that collecting all of them requires way too much grinding.

I don’t think they intended us to continue trying to collect every card. I think the plan was to bombard the community with so many options that people simply pursue the cards they want the most and leave the other ones behind. Hard to do. Fear of missing out on a card.

I don’t pursue all the cards anymore. I try to get just two of the Set Collection cards, because getting all three is too much work.

For me, it is fatigue caused by being “overwhelmed” at the sheer “grind for 99” in this years game.

My goal each year in DD (3rd year) is to finish as many Collections and Programs as possible. Anything online and anything Extreme is out for me. So, I don’t finish the GOAT collection and don’t finish Extreme program.

Past two years, I’ve been able to meet my goals. With a lot of months playing frequently.

This year? I just don’t see it. I used to play frequently, and have still yet to finish ANY TA. In fact, TA 4 hasn’t even been started. At one time, I had completed just about all “Other” programs, but since Season 4 that is no longer the case.

And the Collections? I still need 35 cards for Set 3. All of those will come from finishing the TA3 collection, which I’m 40 cards short there.

    Again,TA4? Zero. Nada. Zilch.

I don’t like the direction that DD has gone in this year. Having a TA collection that feeds into a main Set collection is a “grind within a grind”.

So, as many have pointed out, this year, the game is more of a “job” than a video game.

For me, that leads to overwhelming fatigue.

The issue is that all the good cards are behind either the TA or Season collection. So you pretty much need all the cards to get all the good cards.

I was feeling it so I took a break also snap shot series just left a bad taste in my mouth. Now that I am playing again I just load up players to complete programs and play 9 inning vs CPU games on Vet and I enjoy myself. It reminds me of MLB 18 alot which when I look back that is still the most fun I had with DD playing wise.

I still knock out the conquest maps but I have simplified things on my end and it's made playing much more enjoyable

For me, I started playing DD heavily in 2020 once the lockdowns started. It was a great change of pace since all I played prior to that was RTTS. I played a ton in 21, less in 22 as work got somewhat "back to normal" and I started traveling more. This year, I was able to keep up with the Season 1/2/3 grinds, but I've barely touched Season 4. I'll probably play a little bit between now and the end of the cycle, but I'm not going to knock everything out like I used to.

Like a lot of others, I was really bummed that the big cards are behind pay-walls this year. I get it... SDS is a business after all. But, last year I took a certain amount of pride in getting the "big" Trout card after completing a BR cycle (I think it was BR). I probably have enough cards in my inventory to sell off or could flip to get him, but that's just not my thing.

I agree with @CDNmoneymaker93_MLBTS approach. Keep it simple and enjoy it more. I'll try that.

It's fatigue on both ends. General 'I've done all this and collected these cards before' combined with awful content this year specifically. Even if I still had faith in SDS I wouldn't buy the game in the future. It's just grown stale.

I saw the Tweets about the new Pennant Chase program and had zero excitement.

They “heard” the community on wanting more 99s so they are giving out 99s of some of the most unusable cards in the game.

Schmidt and Glaus are two third basemen with slow blocky swings. Ford is painful to pitch with and Fingers has terrible stuff. Stargell has a nice swing but is probably the 5th or 6th best corner player just in Set 4.

Maybe the Madbum card will be good? Not sure I will find out any time soon because I don’t think I care enough.

For TA i wish they would generalize XP instead of having it be player specific. Certain amount of XP with classics, Certain amount with TA bosses. Maybe add hitting categories or pitching categories. The xp with team specifics isn’t terrible….it just feels like a brutal chore having to pay attention to who’s got what XP, and then having to sub them out for a new guy, rinse/repeat. It’s honestly exhausting. I think that’s what killed it for me this year. Then you add in new programs that come out and you gotta do the same….you need a freakin excel sheet just to keep track

I just think when set 4 hit and I new I had to re grind again, it unmotivated me to play. 99 day ones never bothered me because as we have seen with trout and their 125 attribute scale that two 99s are not always the same, but it’s the grind for same card became one becomes useless is not motivating.

At this point I just play moments, try to complete programs to just say I did, conquest, etc. for no other reason than I like baseball and try to get better at this game.
I'm definitely not playing for any cards, specific rewards, or anything. This year is very non rewarding and just uninteresting

The past two game versions i decided I did not need every card.

This year I play cs the CPU with a core only squad.

It is better this way as my guys are my guys.

Online i go w the bestvi have for the season.

    I win at 50% online.

    Zero game anxiety here.

I do, I actually play franchise the most. Don't put a ton of time in diamond dynasty, but kind of feels like its becoming an incredible grind to complete some programs when you dont play it that often.
