They banned Digital Champion for bad mouthing Ashley and her moments on a stream. Which last I checked banning an account for something said in a content creators stream isn’t in the code of conduct. We should be careful they’ll ban everyone in this thread.
I just saw the clip.
Here's a thought, don't personally insult the devs. Be frustrated with the game if you want, question their decisions and direction if needed. But, if you have to result to vulgar insults towards any of the devs, then you don't get any sympathy from me.
It was a classless little rant he went on.
Again I get it. But to ban him? We still have a freedom of speech thing. He wasn’t cheating he wasn’t exploiting the game he went on a rant. Was it classless absolutely but to ban him, basically what SDS is saying don’t bad mouth us, dont question us, don’t say anything we don’t like or we’ll ban you. But I still see racism in the game with team names, sexually explicit logos, exploiting the game, and other things that aren’t being banned. DC owned it. Apologized. But a perma ban, or in Thuuneys case questioning the company and being fired. Basically don’t question them. Or they’ll make you disappear
I don't think you understand what freedom of speech actually means.
These clowns love using their buzz words

SDS is a private company, not the government which the first amendment applies to.. how do people not know this? I’m not even American and I know this lol

Speaking as someone who has a partnership with a company to promote a product I can tell you that the only real "rule" is to not publicly speak about tye company in a poor manner, if I have an issue with something I have a direct line I can call and discuss the issue.
Applying that understanding to this situation the likely hood is that "rule" would all to Thuney who made a poor choice to air his issue in an open public forum. He could have been more nuanced and tactful in how he did it to say hey I have issues and concerns and I have voiced them direct to SDS and left it at that.
We are in an age where creators are getting more and more affiliations and collaborations with companies but are not fully understand that once you do that there are reasonable limits to what is acceptable from one side and not acceptable from the other.
Bottom line is he made statements as a partner to a company and they didn't like how he went about it so they cut ties. That's how it works, if they banned him from playing the game that would be considered excessive but cutting ties for thr working relationship is reasonable in its context

absolutely mate - i am in the same boat as you - i have been sponsored a lot over the years with different companies in my line of work - the very least you can do is to take concerns privately over email not air out publicly - its a respect thing

They did this 5 years ago to the best player in the game right before they started having community members. This isn’t news this is boredom.

We are in an age where streamers/creators have entirely too much influence on games. Listening to these people have made games worse. Gaming companies have gotten greedy and lazy. Instead of marketing the game to sell, they use streamers/creators and give these people special privileges.

So they’ve taken the approach of literally everything else in the world?
Aaron Judge just signed an endorsement deal with Jordan is he supposed to pay for his Jordan gear to endorse the brand? Does someone who does a commercial for a company pay full price for whatever they do the commercial for? C’mon now, you’re say you’re a 50+ year old man, you should have a better understanding of the world by this point.

Pretty sure he means that instead of paying to advertise the game via commercials etc they are relying on people that stream the game. ![alt text](image url)

Lol the game is being advertised via commercials though! Small streaming platform is not their main media

Thuney has announced he is no longer an e-sports ambassador for SDS and said it was not his decision and the reason the decision was made is because he had talked negatively in public about the current state of the tournaments organized by SDS.
For those who don't know, Thuney is the guy who does the commentary for the games and he is beloved by the community who participates in these events. He is very passionate and, like many others, he would like to see MLBTS make significant steps to become a worthy e-sports title.
But since the tournaments have been a hot mess and SDS doesn't seem to care about it, he voiced his frustrations on his personal social platform. This lead SDS to strip him from his ambassador role moving forward.
Classy as always SDS, great work. You truly understand how to build a community.
If you’re an employee you do not bad mouth your employer publicly this is just common knowledge. If you have differences with your employer you talk to them privately and if a resolution can’t be found then both parties move on
Also if you go on an interview and you start bashing your former employee chances are you won’t get hired bc they feel why wouldn’t this person bash us to others just like he’s bashing his former employer
I told this to thuney last night in his chat and he still seems to not grasp this concept 100% bc he still believes he shouldn’t of been fired but at the same time says he knew he was going to get canned for weeks before his rant
He told me he’s 26 trying to say he’s grown etc etc etc… I love it when 26 year olds think they know everything lol… so much to learn
Good post.
Hopefully for him he can learn from this mistake and not make it again in the future wherever he is employed.

Yea, the people in this world are [censored]. Too much greed.
If a zombie apocalypse ever broke out (walking dead not world war z because we would all be screwed), it wouldn't be the zombies I worry about. 100% be the people left alive.

How this work out for ya

i remember a few years ago the game had a program featuring these community guys and I had no idea who any of them were. i was like what a big waste of time this program is. they made a program from some random joe's off the street.
I guess this guy who got fired must have thought he was something special. that posting he was fired would start some kind of nationwide outrage where people would stop playing the game and SDS would beg on their knees crawling back to him demanding he rejoin the 'community'. When in reality 98.9% of people who play this game have no idea who these people are.
there's an old saying I don't hear much anymore "Dont bite the hand that feeds you"
Delirious!
