in franchise players numbers on there uniforms

i am just wondering since 23 is different then 21, because i did not play 22. i noticed that some of the players on aaa, aa & a milb teams for the mlb teams have the same number. is there is reason why that is. if someone can answer this for me that would be great. it may sound like a stupid question but im not sure if 22 is similiar to 23 or not.

Same number as the player in the major league? They won’t have the same number when you call them up. The number will go to the next available number. For example if you call up Diego Cataya it’ll change him from 17 to 21 unless you decided to use Walker Buehler then it’ll change him to the next available number which is 27.
