Most folks like to talk hitting. I would like to hear people's pitching tips. Sequencing, best locations, etc. What, exactly, is "tunnelling"? After all it is 1/2 the game.

you have to really mix it up as a batter you start learning the pitching tendencies so that's why you have to really mix it up

So throw all the pitcher's pitches? Or stay with, say, fastball/slider and occasionally throw an offspeed? Is there a good sequence or do you just randomly pick a pitch and throw it somewhere? Just looking for ideas and philosopies.

Are you talking CPU or human?

CPU is pretty much hard in, soft out, set up the batter more or less the real life baseball way.

Human depends on the opponent, the level of ranking, and the metas for that year. If you're playing AS or CS in ranked, and your opponent is swinging at every CB in the dirt, just spam it until he adjusts. Typical real life set ups don't usually work vs humans. Since your opponent likely uses R2 to see his last AB, use a different sequence. Location to avoid against a good hitter: low at the knees or just below; launch angle sweet spot.

If your opponent is a decent hitter (doesn't swing at everything and can ambush a good pitch), avoid the usual high and in heat on 2 strikes, as he's probably sitting on it. The hardest thing to do in a game early is figuring out if your opponent is lucky, sitting on a specific pitch/location or plain trolling you to get the pitch he wants.
