This is user error and they have more important things to help people with.

Why can't they do both? Or come up with a solution to not having to help all these people who select dupe players individually, like set up an exchange or something like that? Can't be too hard now can it?

Well, there's a flip side to that "can't be too hard now can it" coin.

It's not too difficult to only select players one needs and not duplicates.

That doesn't make sense of them. I am a consumer and paid for my money. The game takes about a month to change the season. It's a loss if you don't use an outfielder during that time. The game will release a new version next year. Management needs to reduce the time to respond to consumer complaints.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree. But apparantly this community has some serious difficulties with selecting cards they don't already have, because I see dozens of these posts around here every single year. I'll leave the reason for that up for debate because I don't intend to insult anyone. But from a practical standpoint it makes a lot more sense to just create such an exchange and be done with it. I'm already tired of all these posts and I'm probably just seeing a small fraction of these compared to the people who actually have to read these tickets for a living.

They put in a second step when selecting asking if you want a duplicate player card. So if people can’t pay attention, why is SDS supposed to priories fixing that type of an issue over the universal problems that affect everyone.

( I do hope you get it straightened out)

Not prioritizing but acting in their own self interest. Apparantly people are still too thick even with the second step. Seems like such an exchange would take what, 30 minutes to create? Compare that to having to read and answer all these tickets. Seems like an obvious thing to me but hey who am I.

@Oreo-Thomas_XBL은 To. SDS: > It is inefficient to take the second step. It is more efficient to make it unchosen in the first place.
I don't know why I make it possible to choose twice.

The solution is the menu that says “you already have a no sell version of this card are you sure you would like to select another one? Yes/no”

Edit: didn’t read the replies past yours hence the response to you.

Lots of ideas and rationales for how SDS could remedy this situation.

IMO, the situation has already been addressed with the confirmation that the player is selecting a duplicate card that they already possess. SDS has already taken steps to fix the problem.

If they create an exchange, they will start getting tickets stating, "I accidently exchanged the wrong card. Can you fix this and give me my card back?"

The solution is simple, people just need to pay attention to what they're doing. The first time a player is unable to complete a program because they chose a duplicate will probably be the last time they choose a duplicate. As long as SDS keeps fixing their lack of attentiveness, the player will continue to lack attentiveness.

they will fix it for you.. eventually. maybe in a month most likely 2 they fixed it for me when I picked Jonathon India twice but it took a while. you should just take responsibility for being a silly goose.

Why should anyone do that when they can somehow blame the company for not protecting them from making a preventable mistake.

There used to be no indicator when they first introduced collections and it was a madhouse. After that they added the QTY you have in the corner of the card and apparently added a "are you sure message". Maybe the should add a "are you really, really sure?" message too.

I hope the OP's problem gets resolved but maybe people should just slow down a little and not spam button presses on their choice packs.

Make it an infinite exchange. Problem solved. That way even if you're special enough to exchange the wrong card, you can just go back in and exchange again. Or exchange 50 if needed until you get it right.

I think the biggest reason they won't do the exchange is that they tie individual pxp missions into all the cards.

Of course they could get rid of the individual pxp missions, but then we'd have people crying about that.

The fact that this keeps happening over and over is proof that we are all living in a simulation and some people are still running on Windows 3.1.

Those would remain unchanged no? The progress tracks regardless if you own the card or not?

Would it not open up exploits with some programs though.

I earn the first player and earn the PxP with them but have not progressed far enough into the program to unlock the second player. No problem, I'll just exchange for the next player and repeat the process.

It also could be motivation for people to not play the Programs, especially those who do not care about collections. Simply play until you earn that first pack and then try out the card and exchange away until you find the one player in the pack you like the best and then move on without doing any more of the program.

At some point we have to stop expecting companies to protect or shield us from our own careless, preventable mistakes. They have already implemented 2 methods to help prevent people from making this mistake but people want even more hand holding.
