Making ANY cards ineligible is the absolute dumbest thing you could do. "Keep it fresh"? Give me a break. People grind and spend their time playing your game and you're gonna tell them "hey good job but you can't REALLY use a whole bunch of them anymore."? Honestly, I've seen SDS do some stupid things in the past decade or so but this is up there. Like top 1 or 2 dumbest decisions.

I’m just glad once set 6 comes all cards are eligible, it’d be so dumb playing in November when the game is dead and still having locked cards.

But hey they're being innovative and introduce new things!
I wish they had the same mentality when it comes to the actual game, which has basically been the same for almost a decade. Content has always been fine the way it was and didn't need any of this shake up imo.

I am not going to defend them and say that I am a fan of expiring cards because I am not.
But I will say that this is not new information. This information was available since before the game released, including the date that they would become obsolete. If you then decided to spend your time or money collecting Set 1 cards that is a choice you made.

People complain about content every single year. If they just rolled out the same content and programs out again then a large group would call them lazy and say it was simply a cut and paste of the previous year.
They tried something different and I give them a little credit for that even if I am not a fan of the changes myself.

Meh I guess it's a matter of perspective. Most people just want to be rewarded with good cards for either good play (ranked seasons WS/BR 12-0) OR for their commitment to any type of offline grind (collections, mini seasons, extreme program, conquest). I agree that you can't fault them for trying something new, but I do believe they are a little out of touch with what their player base actually desires.

Exactly…It’s not going to keep it fresh. Instead of seeing Bob Gibson every start you’ll see whatever 99 outlier meta pitcher the show team goes “WHOA!!!” at during their stream. Diversity would be keeping ALL CARDS eligible. Dumbest gameplan ever.

If I learned anything around here throughout the years, it would be that people will go to extreme lengths to defend their favorite game. Positive bias is a very real thing.

I don't see a good reason for the players but I can see a good reason for SDS/Sony in the potential that people will buy more stubs in order to keep up. That they may use their stubs not just for a single Ohtani 99 card but for multiple ones. Whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen.

Not "a" conquest and miniseries. Most likely every conquest and mini series released as part of season 3, including the TA conquests.
Set 1 will be allowed in the US Map conquest, Default Mini Season, play vs CPU and any season 1 or 2 content you had not previously completed.
I get tired of hearing people say that it does not affect offline play. It does not affect it as completely as it does Ranked but it still affects it.

The same was true for season 2 though man. You had conquest maps that were only season 2, showdowns, mini seasons.
you're going to get another Trout, Ohtani, whoever else you like. But in Season one Trout and Ohtani were hidden in packs, this time they will be available in a different way. Maybe....just maybe...wait until Friday before throwing a hissy fit? You have no idea what will happen, stop acting like you do .
