Look at the showdowns from early in Season 1. In most, if not all, cases you earned your 500 stubs back if you beat the first 4 bosses. Payouts used to be something like 100, 100, 100, 200

Now look at the most recent Showdowns.... You have to go 6 or 7 bosses deep to earn back your entry fee. The payouts are 50, 50, 75, 75 or some nonsense like that.

Just one more small way that SDS is trying to reduce the amount of stubs that we can earn this year while increasing the number of high priced cards in the game thanks to the constant new Diamond Duo packs.

It is becoming more and more clear that their main goal this year is to get people to buy more stubs out of fear of falling behind.

And the lack of choice packs we used to get in maps… haven’t seen welcome to the show packs yet or many many others

Not just showdown, the new mini seasons have half or less stub rewards from the ones in season 1.

    It's very discouraging.

Very disappointing, indeed! One of the draws to trying Showdowns, was knowing that if you beat the first 4 or 5 missions, you at least got your stubs back.

This is not a step forward, IMO.

How about we do away totally with entry fee?

Yes, last time I played showdown the payouts were like 250-250-300-500 or something similar. Even with pulling Trout twice early along with a few mid level pulls I still notice the stub flow is MUCH lower.

Well, everyone wanted easy mode showdowns, and they are much easier now. But there is the law of unintended consequences, by making it easier, they've lowered the reward. That's kind of how economics works in the real world as well.
