Everyone who is skeptical and never played HOF online should play the event right now and use hitters with decent vision. I really think people would like it.

I dont think enough people have experienced and saw that hof plays so much better and fluently than any other difficulty, otherwise i think there would be more in favor of so.
I swear AS divisions in RS are playing on the offline HOF settings, pitch speeds and PCI size seem identical.
One of the issues last year was that AS was so random and wild. The pcis were huge and it was pretty much just toss up games to who can hit more homeruns
I know AS was a hell hole last year, I was stuck in it for the majority of the year. But if this year the AS divisions are already playing on the offline HOF settings, people aren't going to enjoy the HOF division's, they are already complaining about pitch speeds. I haven't reached the HOF difficulties yet, but I imagine for someone like myself it wouldn't be enjoyable, and I am someone who exclusively plays HOF and Legend offline.
I honestly don't think the speeds are that much different anymore. The big difference is the pci size being smaller, which allows both the hitter and pitcher to be rewarded more fairly and consistently.
I enjoy the way AS online is playing, mostly because it is essentially HOF offline, I just imagine if people are already complaining about pitch speeds and having difficulties, they aren't going to enjoy the HOF divisions online mostly because I imagine it plays closer to Legend difficulty offline, and people who don't play this game on higher difficulty levels will have a very hard time adjusting or finding enjoyment.
I do have a couple questions for WS players though, I have read some posts about how legend difficulty is horrible and just not enjoyable, what are your experiences with it?. Second, what division do you get dropped to for the next season if you finish at 900 or above?

So people should be able to foul off pitches over a foot outside the zone? I would bet you strikeouts in games on All Star do not simulate realistic statistics.

What are you talking about? The point is they shouldn't be able to make contact with the ball that far out of the zone. They should be out. There are many times I do get them out. I thought the goal was for the game to simulate baseball?

Stop this, against any half decent player in all star you’re maybe getting 2-3 strikeouts in a game, in a 3 inning game with less stamina? Strikeouts are going to be non existent, I know a guy that’s gone 12-0 5 times already that’s hitting .480 in BR, rebel is hitting .565 in BR, even im hitting over .400 in BR and I’m nowhere close to that level, strikeouts are almost non existent on all star because the pci’s are too big, the pitch speeds too slow, this isn’t a “get better at pitching” type situation

I’m not disagreeing with you. A hitter with good PCI skills can foul off lots of pitches and prolong at-bats. I’m sure you do the same when you’re hitting. It IS annoying.
My point is, it is not impossible to strike people out on AS.

Of course it’s not impossible, bad players strike out on all star, any decent player is going to rarely strike out on all star

The problem here is that BR is a mode open to players of all ratings.
Maybe what would need to happen would be to change the difficulty as people’s runs progress.
Yes, good hitters don’t strike out very much on All Star, but we are all in the same boat.

It's not impossible but it doesn't happen at the rate that it should. Also, players get rewarded for having bad plate discipline because they get prolonged at bats for swinging at bad pitches.

I do feel like AS in BR and Event's is different than AS in ranked seasons, but that could just be me.

My problem with your point is, rather than improving AS for everyone, all you seem to care about is making BR HOF so you don’t have to deal with it.

I'm not sure what the answer is. The good players dont want to play on all star while the bad players dont want to play on HoF. How do they pacify both sides? Honest question because I dont know.

I think universal pitch speeds would be a good place to start, but yeah, there’s a pretty diverse player base, and we’re just talking about players that play online, which is already a sub-set.

My problem with your point is, rather than improving AS for everyone, all you seem to care about is making BR HOF so you don’t have to deal with it.
It's not that I don't care about it, it's that it doesn't have anything to do with the point of this thread I started. The point is, BR has the biggest rewards. It's very competitive. It should be on a competitive difficulty. Also and more importantly, I think HOF does a better job of playing like real baseball.
Honestly, the bigger the pci, the more RNG they have to include to make the game have somewhat realistic results. If the pci was the size of the strikezone, it would all be RNG other than timing because otherwise you'd always drive the ball.

Only thing I can think of is opening the timing windows up more on all star if you want to keep pitch speeds the same. Otherwise a lot of players will get frustrated and quit.

It's not so much the speeds. I think the pci size is the bigger deal, although I think the pitch speeds on HOF are good, I don't think they're much different from All Star on the current patch. I think the pci size is the bigger difference.
