All this game is a stupid home run derby… never seen this ever in any other year except this year.. please nerf home runs.

Agreed. New year, same issue. They increased hit variety by about 10%, but most runs still come from homers...just played a ranked game yesterday and it was 9 homers...just dumb!

what? i must be doing it wrong, i keep losing to dudes hitting 12 weak singles a game lol. I feel like the power is nerfed from last year.

I’ve played online since 19 and it’s always been a homerun derby since they got rid of H/9 mattering. Look at your stats, almost every batter with over 80 power will have homeruns as the highest percentage of extra base hits

It has been that way for several years.
The new hitting engine introduced in '18 produced more bloop singles, and less gap line drives. Pretty much homerun, or bust.
They say every year that they are going to "make contact hitters more useful", but to no avail.
With the past-gen consoles being dropped, maybe we will get a new hitting engine next year?
