You're out of luck, like 2 dogs stuck, as the saying goes 🤣
I can give you my autographed Ralph Kiner baseball as compensation.....

Dude, that’s all it takes to get a signed baseball from a Hall of Famer and World War 2 Vet from you? I lost my dog, wife, truck and home and what’s worse. I picked the same TA player twice. What can you send me hahahaha.

JK- do you really have a signed Kiner baseball?

PSA- none of what I wrote is true and no animals were hurt in the typing of this post.

Yes. Around 2000. I was working the press entrance, and sometimes the players entrance at Shea Stadium for Central Parking System back then. I met many, many players and celebs. Kiner was still on Mets broadcasts at the time.
I met Mark McGuire, Dusty, Chris Berman, Piazza, Vlad Sr., Leiter, Mike Hampton, Tom Glavine as a Brave, Fonzie, Gary Thorne, so many. It was surreal.
Kiner was a BELOVED Mets broadcaster, and Tim McCarver brought out the best in him on Mets broadcasts. I cried like a baby when he passed. McCarver as well.

I thought McCarver was the Cardinals longtime broadcaster when he wasn’t doing the playoffs and World Series

Pulled Ralph Kiner's Prime series card late last night and forgot all about it when I got on this morning. Got some new POTM cards and auto-collected my binder without thinking, which collected Kiner as well. I submitted a ticket to SDS as soon as I realized what I'd done. Is there any chance I can get that card back sellable or am I SOL?

You’re not being genuine when asking this right?

I can't stand Chris Berman or the late Tim McCarver. Even as a kid I knew they were horrible broadcasters. Berman is a gimmick and Tim McCarver would use as much air time as possible to state something so obvious and not at all insightful.

McCarver was so bad he received the Ford C Frick award and was inducted into the HOF as an announcer.

Pretty sure your insight was the minority.

I know you don’t like my posts very much as we have differing opinions about most things but these awards nowadays are not based on merit anymore they’re based on political ideology. Now when McCarver received these accolades it wasn’t nearly as bad as it has become but let’s not put a whole lot stock into awards that people receive. Even the Hall of Fame voting is becoming an institution of woke ideology. There is zero reason for why Curt Schilling is not a HOF’er. He has as good or better stats than some current HoF’ers. The HoF was never intended to be an institution based on character it was an institution based on sheer statistical greatness. I think we both can agree on that.

He was but spent a few doing Mets games on WOR Channel 9.

There is really nothing wrong with being "woke" if one believes the term has to do with accepting those not like oneself. Regarding Shilling I think his exclusion has less to do with his bigotry and racist world view and more to do specifically with his statements on the press. You know...the people who vote on the HOF.

Regardless of how you define wokeness or racism or bigotry we don’t call it the the Hall of Character where perceived good deeds are rewarded or accepted ideologies by one side of the political aisle give you a head start over the remaining field. It’s the Hall of Fame. A collection of great players for their performances between the lines not their stances on the days news beyond those lines. And voting for anything other than that is doing a disservice to baseball and all HoF’ers prior to them. Baseball is littered with shady characters throughout its history.

Wow, these forums are getting better. It took 25 full posts to go from “I accidentally locked in a card” to a rant about “woke ideology.”

I didn’t intend for that to happen I was making a point about awards that writers get and of course as always people blow what is said way out of proportion. Shame on me, I should know better.

My memories of McCarver are limited to playoff baseball in the early to mid-nineties. Maybe he was good in a local market but on the national stage he was horrible. Not sure who was worse. Him or Joe Morgan. Constant dribble from both of them.

"Watch Darren Daulton use his mitt like a glove"

    -Tim McCarver.
