Getting Killed by directional hitters

How do I know ? every single
ball you throw is Square up . Just point in the direction and swing simpleThat sounds more like Zone. I tried Directional/Timing/Pure Analog and they are not even close in getting results, compared to Zone, in online RS H2H.
If your opponent dots the corners, then Directional Hitting is basically useless. Directional may be somewhat useful in Moments and vs CPU on Rookie.

We should have a option to only play Zone Hitting in RS .
It is not fair that they play on easy mode and I have the disadvantage of having to square up
the ball .You can't even throw a strike to these guys.
How do you pitch to them ? If they lay off balls which is easy because they don't even have to square the ball just point in the direction and let the CPU do the rest .
You can tell right off the bat if you are facing a good
directional player . They hit everything hardWhats the point ? At least nerf it
To beat a directional hitter, throw fastballs up and in all day.
They can't get to it. If they do, it's a fly out or a foul ball.As a former directional enthusiast, I don't blame anyone for switching from zone.
Zone was always supposed to be high skill/high reward.
Now it's high skill, "meh" reward.
Like contact swing last year: You can join 'em, or lose with integrity. -

I can second that... played a lot of RS innings using directional back in '20 and '21, and the up-and-in was very weak contact if I could hit it at all.
I still won't use zone but switched to timing with analog input midway through '21 and haven't looked back... I can hit that pitch, now, but, overall, you still don't get the consistency of good contact that a skilled zone player can create for themselves by being good at throwing their reticle-eyeballs around the strike zone.
Zone may not offer the rewards it has in the past (I trust that people reporting their contact has suffered a bit are speaking truth), but it still more consistently offers a better chance for hard contact than the other interfaces.

I wish there was an option, just like cross play, to turn off CAPS and created stadiums.
I have a created player and I agree, they need to be taken out of DD.

Created stadiums are one of the reasons I haven't bought a PS5 yet.
Anything like that (CAS/CAP) should only be available on offline modes.

After the patch if you play someone using directional or timing hitting all you have to do is pitch them sinkers or off speed pitches low and away.
They won’t be able to hit it, litterally even with good timing 6 out of 8 times they will make no contact. If you play on HOF or up that is

Interesting... I'm still in the 600s in RS, so admittedly haven't played HOF in that mode yet, but I've played quite a few Mini Seasons and Conquest games on HOF and, with the right swing direction, I can hit just about any strike if I time it correctly. Might be that it's different head-to-head, or may be the analog input since you can target a particular third of the zone (straight up for center-cut, diagonals for inside/outside), but I haven't noticed a particular hole like I did with directional.
A couple more wins and I should hit the 700s... guess I'll find out!

These theories about playing against Directional and Timing users is hilarious... look just use the settings you are comfortable with... and trust there are limitations to someone using Directional or Timing... you aren't as much in control of the type of contact you will make and will be at the mercy of the pitcher... so if you are getting lit up by someone that uses Directional or Timing (also how would you know?) then you might need to reevaluate how you pitch.

I can’t wait to watch the tournaments this year & see all these directional & timing players!
Tournaments? There is zero pro scene because this game is 40% skill a 60% RNG. Can’t put money on the line when user input (skill) isn’t favored.

And yet there are money tournaments. Won by the same groups of people.
