I see people talking about hits and HRs left and right but that doesn't seem to be the case for me. I'm still in veteran (wanted to wait until I got most collection stuff completed) on RS and I'm struggling at the plate. I did fine, for the most part, in the latest event.

I'm not great at the game but I've never been this bad at the plate before. I seem to he horned up for high and in FBs while everyone appears to be throwing low offspeed stuff that I am way too early on even when I try to sit back.

    Anyone else struggling?

I wouldn’t say I’m struggling, but hitting is definitely different, especially since the last update.

I’m on Veteran as well. Do not play online whatsoever.

Lots of swings and misses, even with good feedback. The outside and low slider is a guaranteed miss for me. Ha!

More perfect/perfects. 90% of them are hits of some kind. Lot of doubles.

The homers I do hit are 400+ feet. No cheapies.

I struggle on fastball an sinkers, even the 94 mph ones. 90% of the time i dont have good timing. Even if im waiting for it. I can hit better on monitor but i dont like sittin at a desk so close to the screen for hours. . Its the price i pay for just usin a normal 65 tv.

I don't hit near as well as I should, but it is definitely better than it was at the start of the year. Switching to "bat pci" helped more than anything. I also really do not play offline at rookie or veteran anymore. You have to be really disciplined to work counts on the lower levels and most of the time I am playing offline I don't want to work six pitch at bats. I think a lot of people this year have had better experiences offline at All Star.

I also believe there is a bigger differential between fastballs and offspeed pitches this year. I think that is why so many people struggle with those sliders away. I have noticed a lot of my opponents online can absolutely destroy fastballs, but struggle big time with offspeed. And then vice versa...if they can hit offspeed, they normally will be late on fastballs. I feel like in previous years there wasn't the difference between the two like there should have been.

I feel like I hit better this year than I have the last two years. With that being said, I struggled last night vs Dustin May. Lost 3-2 in a game I should’ve won.

Yes. Online and offline. Last update got me all kinds of messed up for sure. I lost a mini season game last night on Veteran. Every perfect/perfect was a line drive out. The PCI location doesn't seem to correlate with the outcome. I hit a HR with the PCI not touching the ball and then a lineout with perfect/perfect.

This. Exactly this. I feel ya. Doesnt make a lot of sense to me. Then you couple this with the fact that the cpu will not chase, this update is hard on the soul.

The CPU will pitch around you on Rookie LOL. They must have gotten tired of us XP and pack farming basically with mini seasons. Used to take 1 game to get a Ballin pack or 5 pack bundles. Take 3 games now.

Ive been no-hit by the CPU 3 times on Rookie this year in mini seasons. I was also high af and swinging at quite literally every pitch in a different zip code.

That's the thing though, since when does the CPU pitch around you so much on Rookie? You should be able to just about swing at everything in rookie and get hits. Not saying you should get a HR every AB on rookie but shouldn't get no hit.

I like it, more of a struggle yes. But hitting is more realistic. You shouldn’t be hitting more then 1 or 2 hrs in a 3 inning game.

I was enjoying hitting and then it’s homerun or busy once again. It’s these [censored] streamers, they cry to SDS , send clips why wasn’t this a homerun and boom it’s a homerun derby once again

It definately seems that making contact on breaking balls is really touchy. Even if I'm barely early or barely late it usually results in a swing and miss or a check swing. Hitting breaking balls should be hard, but I think it would be more realistic if just missing on timing resulted in a poor contact result or foul tip.

I'm squaring more balls than ever this year, but few are dropping.
Lot of perfect perfect outs, but that's baseball, so I'm good with it.

I am, but that's because I have inconsistent placement, and always have.
I have good timing, I'd say 80 % of the time, but w/o placement, it means nothing this year. I have found a better way to hold the left analog stick this week, so I'm getting better at placement accuracy.
Playing Events and BR for the first time has me needing to get better!

Early on, especially during pre-launch, hitting was ridiculous. Now it's much tougher. SO...depending on what comments you are reading...WHEN they were posted makes a difference.
