When playing a computer vs game, doesn't matter what mode, when the AI has decided to sneak a run or 2 in the follow up is just ridiculous.

For example, Fergie Jenkins 97 (now up to 98) is pitching. The general indicator that AI has decided the player is going to lose in this situation is that pitcher that typically can hit a gnat's a$s can't find the strike zone. And, yeah, that happens in real life on occasion.

But, then the AI team puts together just enuf..little blooper, maybe an error to score that run or 2. After that, this is my point, Fergie (or whoever is pitching) can just throw meatball after meatball into the zone and the AI team hits nothing. Just K after K. It's like in the code somewhere once that counter is set that the AI has it's winning runs, code continues back to how you would expect the outcome of Fergie Jenkins in his prime pitching to CJ Abrams. The AI batters just flail at anything.

And, it's been the same ever since I started playing this game nearly 10 years ago. Always reminded that the game isn't really a true "simulation" it's a bunch of awesome video powered by a script that seldom takes player values, controller input, or anything really important into account when deciding outcomes.

I have. Pretty much the same story. I mean it's code manipulating outcomes w/o a whole lot of weight on card ratings or controller input.

But, hey, it's tons better than the next best MLB console game.
