Set 1 Collection

So does anyone else feel that there is no way most of us are getting to 260 cards in this collection?
I mean I am not sure we are meant to but still it kinda sucks
I am at 135 cards right now and with two more Tops Now weeks and Montly program I think I can get to maybe 170-180 which means only 1 pack will be attainable.
Also given that we can use Set 1 cards in Season 2 do you think they will still release Set 1 cards during Season 2?I honestly doubt it very much.
Still it's a great collection to be sure.I got Jazz,Turner and I will get Chipper Jones so can't really complain.

I think we will continue to be able to get set 1 cards . The WBC program is available all year and those cards go into Set 1.

I wouldn't be surprised if SDS started planting Set 1 packs everywhere once Season 2 begins. Like they always start throwing packs around when the shark map drops.

New BR starts before Season 2, so those will be Set 1.
New Ranked starts (I believe) before Season 2, so those will be Set 1.
Additional Topps Now/POTM cards will be Set 1.Not to mention the inevitable (as @dbrooks1869_XBL points out) hidden conquest packs, mini-seasons rewards, etc.

We still have more Topps Now, Player of the Month and Other Programs coming. It will definitely be achievable to get all 3 packs.

With BR and RS, most of the cards were core. It was only the flawless pack and World Series pack and I think the pennant race pack that were Set 1. It still helps, but if that continues it will only be three to five cards from each that help with Set 1. Things like the Charisma program on Friday will be more helpful along with TN/POTM like you mention.
I really think this is designed to be very hard for people to get all three during season one, but then will become more attainable during season two. I fully expect lots of rewind type packs during season two along with lots of headliner packs that are from Set One.

Count how many are 'available' to collect now. That should tell you if there is enough right now to get all three rewards.
If there isn't enough now; that means they'll be adding more later.
Remember; it's made to take awhile. Not to have Day 1.

Ranked from what I saw goes until 5/12, so the next season would be for Season 2.

Does that include today's Diamond Duos and today's BR rewards?
Plus 10 more Charisma this Friday. Probably 5-7 more TN.
Even if that total included today's Content drop; after Fri there will be a possible 253/255. And we still have 3 weeks left in the program.
It's going to be possible; but will still cost a chunk of change.

We have until July 7th. Thats over 2 months away. We still have all the Topps Now to collect, another program with 9 more cards this week. Its not like the content is gonna stop and we're gonna have nothing to play for.

I just got Chipper and only locked in no sell cards and cards less than 20k, most near quick sell value. It's a grind for sure, but you'll get there. I feel confident I'll get the 2nd one reasonable soon, but yeah the 3rd is a ways away.

You’re at 135? I guarantee you’ll get to 260 if you just keep playing. Card prices will go down, packs will be added to conquests, programs will be added etc. Friday alone there will be 10 new Charisma cards. There were like 12 TN cards just this week. I bet you get to 260 by June.

They absolutely will not release set 1 cards during set 2 (why would they) but, conversely, very few set 1 cards will become unobtainable. It's really all up to them. If they give away set one packs after season one ends, the cards will be affordable and you can complete the collection. If they don't, the cards will become prohibitively expensive and not worth the effort. At the very least, there will likely be enough freely obtainable cards to hit the first pack, and since you can only use one set 1 card in season three anyway...

Why would I have to be done with the season 1 collection by the time season 2 starts? You know the cards don’t go away and you can collect them all year. I don’t play much online (I’d rather get a root canal). so the whole concept of seasons and sets hardly applies to me. But I love collections, TA, Mini Seasons, completing programs, etc.
All I’m saying is, if the goal is to collect the cards, you have until March of next year. Just because they don’t release new set 1 cards, you can always continue to collect the ones that are available all year.
I guess I’m just not quite sure what the worry is? Do you want to have them all by the end of season 1 and if so…why?

I agree they will not release new set 1 cards, but they will continue to put the already released ones in programs and packs throughout the game. plus I have a feeling the market will open up a bit when TA 2 drops and then I can start flipping cards while bored at work. Then I’ll have an endless stub flow. My job is hella boring this time of year.
All I’m trying to tell OP is that they can continue collecting set one cards while starting set 2 and beyond. Yes, this is but more urgent for dedicated RS players.
