90% of the pitches in the zone get hit for home runs.. no matter what. If it’s in the zone 90% of the time it’s going to be a home run. I was using 97 lee smith and people online are very early on 100+mph pitches and they’re still hitting home runs. Every pitch way out of the zone is fouled off until you’re forced to pitch in the zone and it’s an automatic home run given even if it’s in the corner and the person is late on it.
I remember in older versions of mlb the show you could use all sorts of cards like golds and silvers and have some degree of success and you had to actually think to build out a team. Now 90% of the cards are unusable and every team is full of 99 players already. I used to use the daily matchup boosted players to build competitive teams and now I don’t even care for it cause all those players are unusable cause all you’re facing is 99 players.
If you try and use a low diamond or gold pitcher it’s automatic home runs if any pitch is in the zone no matter what and that’s just ridiculous. It’s not like I’m just throwing the pitch down the middle.
I’ve been playing this game for years and am not a bad player but this years game is beyond ridiculous with the home run rate. Of course I’m hitting my share of home runs but all this game is home run or contact out no matter how you pitch.
Is the excuse really everybody’s eye is otherworldly?? I say absolutely not. The game has been tuned to allowing way too many home runs and for contact to be made so easily that pitching is completely irrelevant at this point.
You could spend thousands of dollars like YouTube streaming content creators I won't name and still give up home runs and lose. It's a skill issue. If everyone has 99 god squads and plays on Legendary, you will still give to home runs to a player that's skilled with the PCI stick.
Also take into account the difficulty level, and pitchers abilities. It increases or shrinks the PCI. Difficulty makes the balls move faster. So that 102 fastball on veteran looks way more faster on all-star, hall of fame and legend.
I've seen players with good skills still get out too. I won't name names of the content creators unless it's OKd by the moderators. Not cheating. Just better skill level.
Don't get discouraged. I never go into a ranked game expecting to win or lose anymore. I just try to have fun now.

Look at Kevin on youtube. That guy has improved immensely. 16-1 in ranked. Even McGunski has lost.
Dimmu makes no money spent quality competitive ranked content. All use the PCI and are skilled. Even they miss pitches. Like a poster earlier. Be unpredictable when pitching. -
You could watch Kevin on YouTube play a ranked game and blow a 2-0 lead in the ninth only to win in the bottom 3-2. Lots of jam shot outs and ground balls.
Both pitched well.
