Question about Franchise

Why when I play Franchise that I can't negotiate a contract extension with the manager or coaching staff? I'm the GM, I should be able to do that! The other thing is when will we be able to trade for cash considerations like they do in real life?

Those are things that have always bothered me. Also, when my manager retires why can’t I just promote one of my others guys to manager? My wish is the trade system gets a major upgrade like the scouting/drafting got this year in next years game.
