Just look at Twitter where multiple MyTeam creators started playing Diamond Dynasty for the first time and are RAVING about how rewarding the game is just for playing the game. 2K is a scam that thrives on micro transactions with <2% odds of pulling top cards in their packs that are $5 a pack when using VC. If MyTeam had 99 McGrady and 99 LeBron on EVERY team you play online 7 days after release...they would be getting killed online.
Yep just sell off boosts, shoes, and badges for maybe a couple thousand MT (if you’re lucky) for Mcgrady whose card is over 1,000,000 MT on the Auction House. TroyDan opened over 538 packs for Dark Matter Kobe Bryant. SDS makes it to where people can be NMS and get the best players by grinding the game. That’s a good thing. 2K’s community hates them and has a pack strike going bc of it.

Because you can field a competitive team by just playing a good amount and not paying a cent. This game has a lot of rough edges. Being pay to play is NOT one of them.
So turning the game into this is the answer?
Now every team is JUICED, so it's a level playing field...?
Sorry, I much prefer what 2K does. Sure they cater to those who want to spend money. But I can build a solid team and improve it and customize it over time without spending a DIME. And then when I jump into an online game, they have matchmaking that doesn't put my 85 OVR rated team against someone with a 98 OVR rated team.
Doesn't happen in this game. Just made the game mode dull, boring, and repetitive. I should go thru my game logs and track who is in my opponents lineups. It's like the same 6 to 10 guys.
This new way of doing things just made META-only lineups a thing from Day 1 of pre-launch until EndGame. It made it so there is literally ZERO team building strategy now in this mode.
They added Captains and boosts...and then made them virtually irrelevant because you're still playing at a disadvantage against these juiced-up 97/99 cards.
2k really takes a lot of strategy, people cheese all the time lowering their team overalls. enough with the "strategy" talk, theres so much skill required in this game, its not just 99 card and press x, being able to actually hit, have an approach, pitch, set up you bench to platoon, bull pen, etc.
Not playing a lineup full of 99's is "cheese" now?

people cheese in 2k using lower overall cards on their bench and a 5 man rotation of starters. Lower team overall lower matchmaking against other teams, thats how 2k does matchmaking.

Whether players are on the bench or starters does NOT have an effect on OVR rating whatsoever. NONE.
That's how matchmaking SHOULD work. It would be nice if it worked that way in Ranked. When I load up a team with an overall of 83 to have some fun, I shouldn't be matched with someone playing all 99s. How is that fun?
Not in this game, overall matters to much in other games as madden and 2k are badge/ability dependent, meaning some cards are useless without the right badges, in this game you could have a 99 overall team and get run ruled because you lack the ability to hit, the rating system in this game is perfect the way it is. The last thing we need in this game is people abuseing matchmaking for easier games, that was a big problem in mlb 21, people tanked their records so they could get easier wins on all star faster.

I say this as someone that only has Lindor but I have a nice little collection that I've been grinding for of non-99s that are absolutely amazing for me (atleast in games vs CPU), might see what these guys can do in Ranked this week at some point since I still need the Ranked Seasons Egg.

the grind it took me to get 99 chipper finally last night was nauseating, but according to a few i was handed it, and they didnt make me work for 99 chipper.

Also pack limits... that helped me get my spending under control after earlier years of buying stubs and pulling packs in an attempt to start a YouTube channel, now I can wait for stub sales and for packs to go on sale later in the cycle before making a mad dash to get stubs with cash... also in Madden I remember people maxing out the # of accounts they can have team on and from there they would trade all the cards they pulled from one pack all to the same account... I should know because I did it myself but yeah after buying all those packs my wallet was pretty empty.

I say this as someone that only has Lindor but I have a nice little collection that I've been grinding for of non-99s that are absolutely amazing for me (atleast in games vs CPU), might see what these guys can do in Ranked this week at some point since I still need the Ranked Seasons Egg.

It's not hard to get Lindor. I played a few Ranked Seasons games and had enough Stubs to buy him on the Marketplace. Do some of you even pay attention to the Marketplace or play this game online????
Actually it’s even easier. You just buy him. 99% of this forum plays offline exclusively and will never run into a fully purchased 99 overall team. But boy oh boy did they ever cry last year when they had to play one on rookie in mini seasons.
