Why Does SDS Get a Pass...and EA and 2K don't?
-
I'm personaly absolutely loving this year of MLB The Show.
There's no variety in cards? I can't disagree more... I have so many very good cards right now at each position, that I really don't know who to start first, this is great. And we still don't know, what cards will come in Set 2.I also don't know, what is that strategy in team building OP is talking about? I played lot of MUT, HUT and Fifa before and I don't see any strategy in team building there. You just use the best cards available to you by grind or money transactions, that's all in my opinion.
The true difference between DD and other Ultimate modes is in the quality of cards you can grind for free. And this is much, much better in DD than anywhere else

Because you can field a competitive team by just playing a good amount and not paying a cent. This game has a lot of rough edges. Being pay to play is NOT one of them.
So turning the game into this is the answer?
Now every team is JUICED, so it's a level playing field...?
Sorry, I much prefer what 2K does. Sure they cater to those who want to spend money. But I can build a solid team and improve it and customize it over time without spending a DIME. And then when I jump into an online game, they have matchmaking that doesn't put my 85 OVR rated team against someone with a 98 OVR rated team.
Doesn't happen in this game. Just made the game mode dull, boring, and repetitive. I should go thru my game logs and track who is in my opponents lineups. It's like the same 6 to 10 guys.
This new way of doing things just made META-only lineups a thing from Day 1 of pre-launch until EndGame. It made it so there is literally ZERO team building strategy now in this mode.
They added Captains and boosts...and then made them virtually irrelevant because you're still playing at a disadvantage against these juiced-up 97/99 cards.
2k really takes a lot of strategy, people cheese all the time lowering their team overalls. enough with the "strategy" talk, theres so much skill required in this game, its not just 99 card and press x, being able to actually hit, have an approach, pitch, set up you bench to platoon, bull pen, etc.
Not playing a lineup full of 99's is "cheese" now?
That's hilarious. Clown world.
people cheese in 2k using lower overall cards on their bench and a 5 man rotation of starters. Lower team overall lower matchmaking against other teams, thats how 2k does matchmaking.

Just look at Twitter where multiple MyTeam creators started playing Diamond Dynasty for the first time and are RAVING about how rewarding the game is just for playing the game. 2K is a scam that thrives on micro transactions with <2% odds of pulling top cards in their packs that are $5 a pack when using VC. You grind just to get small amounts of MT to the point they banned half their community for buying MT when it was a problem they caused by their own greed.

The reason they get a pass, is the cornballs worrying about giving them out, play offline and SDS just gave them 99 overalls they can use to destroy the Orioles.
There isn't a more pay to win sports game at the moment but take it from one of the “I haven’t played an EA game in 7 years” guys they also seem to know what there always in about. They don’t even know everything in The Show came from other games besides conquest which is literally just a stolen game lmfao.
Programs used to run all year, now they are a two month fortnite battle pass you need to do nothing to complete but sign in everyday and do a 10 minute challenge fit for a 8 year old.
Honestly might be the lowest IQ community around. The Easter egg hunt was literally to much thinking for some.
prorams did not use to run all year, they had an XP reward path that did, but we use to have inning programs that yes were available all year, but you could only earn program stars for the current program other than the program stars given within a program. So not much has really changed.

With all of the same arguments appearing in different threads (and I guilty of some of them), I think if the WBC set of cards didn't exist there would be less complaining. But if you play a Ranked game and see less than 6 WBC cards on your opponents lineup, I'd consider that a rarity. You just get smacked in the face with WBC cards around every corner right now. And the program is here for the entire year so that's not going to change. Just need to accept it, 99 Lindor is here to stay haha.

Just making it EASY to get ridiculously overpowered cards is not "rewarding", it's just EASY.
How is it a "scam"? 2K gives out plenty of cards that you can grind for. I use them all year long and do just fine.
The problem is there are so many babies out there who lack self-control. They want Tracy McGrady NOW!!!! Waaaaahhhhh wahhhh wahhhh.
The lack of impulse control and any kind of intelligence is the issue.
They could easily use the free cards, save MT, sell off their boosts, badges, shoes, etc...and then buy McGrady in the AH eventually.
At least that way, there is a strategy involved.
You really want to go into EVERY online game a week after the game is released and play against a 99 McGrady on EVERYONE's team?!?!?
Because that's what's going on in DD right now. Every game it's 99 Lindor. 99 Trout. 99 Ohtani...being used a the CLOSER.
That's the entire POINT of this post...
If MyTeam had 99 McGrady and 99 LeBron on EVERY team you play online 7 days after release...they would be getting killed online.

This.
Not only is it not fun or entertaining to play all these 99s so early in every game. It's really NOT fun to jump into an online game and play the SAME LINEUPS over and over and over and over again.
If the WBC cards weren't available, I literally think we'd see the total opposite.
Every game I load into, I get nauseous as soon as I see all the hideous WBC card art everywhere in EVERY one of my opponents lineups.
Serious question...
We often see people talk about how this game takes SKILL and you can win with lesser cards if you are skilled.
If that's the case, and it gets repeated all the time online....then how come literally NO ONE jumps online with anything LESS than the best, most META lineup possible? Does no one like a challenge? I thought skill wins over the best cards in The Show?

Yep just sell off boosts, shoes, and badges for maybe a couple thousand MT (if you’re lucky) for Mcgrady whose card is over 1,000,000 MT on the Auction House. TroyDan opened over 538 packs for Dark Matter Kobe Bryant. SDS makes it to where people can be NMS and get the best players by grinding the game. That’s a good thing. 2K’s community hates them and has a pack strike going bc of it.

Not in this game, overall matters to much in other games as madden and 2k are badge/ability dependent, meaning some cards are useless without the right badges, in this game you could have a 99 overall team and get run ruled because you lack the ability to hit, the rating system in this game is perfect the way it is. The last thing we need in this game is people abuseing matchmaking for easier games, that was a big problem in mlb 21, people tanked their records so they could get easier wins on all star faster.

I mean people had to work to get that 99 Lindor... as far as Trout well it is what it is... oh and Ohtani has a closer card and well fatigue is a factor in this years game so they can keep trotting any Ohtani card out to take the mound to close the game all they want, it's your job to hit the pitches that your opponent throws with him.
I say this as someone that only has Lindor but I have a nice little collection that I've been grinding for of non-99s that are absolutely amazing for me (atleast in games vs CPU), might see what these guys can do in Ranked this week at some point since I still need the Ranked Seasons Egg.

Also pack limits... that helped me get my spending under control after earlier years of buying stubs and pulling packs in an attempt to start a YouTube channel, now I can wait for stub sales and for packs to go on sale later in the cycle before making a mad dash to get stubs with cash... also in Madden I remember people maxing out the # of accounts they can have team on and from there they would trade all the cards they pulled from one pack all to the same account... I should know because I did it myself but yeah after buying all those packs my wallet was pretty empty.

The best cards should be RARE. Especially if they are going to make them so overpowered.
Who said you deserve the "best players in the game" just for playing?
What's funny is you all think you deserve the BEST. Everyone does, right?
These modes are so dumbed down and easy.

The last thing we need in this game is people abuseing matchmaking for easier games, that was a big problem in mlb 21, people tanked their records so they could get easier wins on all star faster.
You're mixing two different things.
If I choose to play lower rated cards, then I am "abusing" the matchmaking????
That's idiotic, nonsensical BS.

LOL! You dudes are freaking hilarious.
The first sign of your LUNACY is you used the term "work"!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha!!!
It's not hard to get Lindor. I played a few Ranked Seasons games and had enough Stubs to buy him on the Marketplace. Do some of you even pay attention to the Marketplace or play this game online????

Yep just sell off boosts, shoes, and badges for maybe a couple thousand MT (if you’re lucky) for Mcgrady whose card is over 1,000,000 MT on the Auction House. TroyDan opened over 538 packs for Dark Matter Kobe Bryant. SDS makes it to where people can be NMS and get the best players by grinding the game. That’s a good thing. 2K’s community hates them and has a pack strike going bc of it.
The best cards should be RARE. Especially if they are going to make them so overpowered.
Who said you deserve the "best players in the game" just for playing?
What's funny is you all think you deserve the BEST. Everyone does, right?
These modes are so dumbed down and easy.
It’s called a grind for a reason. You think the Chipper/Babe/Pedro set lock ins are just given away?

Actually it’s even easier. You just buy him. 99% of this forum plays offline exclusively and will never run into a fully purchased 99 overall team. But boy oh boy did they ever cry last year when they had to play one on rookie in mini seasons.
